Food Shouldn’t Be a Luxury

Mahmoud Ahmed, a 27-year-old man from Gaza City, was severely injured when his home was bombed. The explosion left him with constant pain running along the entire left side of his body, from his shoulder down to his pelvis. Painkillers no longer help, and he is unable to access the medical evaluation and treatment he needs. Before the genocide, Mahmoud ran a small barber shop that provided income for his family. The bombing destroyed both his home and his business, leaving him without any source of livelihood. His 23-year-old wife was pregnant at the time, but they lost the baby. The couple has been displaced three times and lost their tent in attacks. They are now sharing a damaged tent with another family on the beach, where they risk being asked to leave at any moment. The cold and damp conditions there make Mahmoud’s bone and nerve pain worse. Their most immediate needs are safer and warmer shelter away from the beach, proper medical care for his injury, basic necessities, and support to begin rebuilding their lives. Donations can help provide a tent, food, medical treatment, warmth, and a chance for the young couple to start over after losing everything.
