There’s one line from Tetsuo’s “Hello World” that I simply can’t get out of my head: “I saw the worst of you. And I still chose you.” Let that sink in for a moment. We live in a world where people hate each other over different opinions. Where kindness is mistaken for weakness. Where ignorance, arrogance, and hatred often speak louder than compassion. We judge people without knowing their stories. We turn disagreements into hatred. We divide ourselves into groups, build walls between each other, and forget that, beneath all our differences, we’re still human. And sometimes, it feels like we’ve become so obsessed with everything that separates us that we’ve forgotten everything that connects us. Now think about that line again. An artificial intelligence sees humanity at its absolute worst. Every war. Every betrayal. Every act of cruelty. Every terrible mistake we’ve ever made. And despite knowing all of it… It still chooses us. Isn’t it ironic? We’re building machines that might one day understand humanity better than we understand ourselves. Yet we humans still struggle to understand something as simple as kindness. Maybe the most important message of “Hello World” isn’t about artificial intelligence at all. Maybe it’s about us. About choosing compassion over hatred. Understanding over ignorance. And love over fear. Because if we could all learn to see the worst in each other… and still choose each other… We wouldn’t need artificial intelligence to make this world a better place.
