While Glasses Malone was talking about Michael Jackson, the name Fosse came up, and the whole conversation turned into a lesson on where greatness comes from 🎥.
They talked about how Michael Jackson studied James Brown, Jackie Wilson and the choreographer Bob Fosse, then took those foundations and turned them into something singular.
That's also where Beyoncé's "Single Ladies" dance comes from, which traces back to Fosse's "Mexican Breakfast" routine.
Glasses' point was that greats study the greats, and he called it a beautiful kind of cultural exchange that keeps art alive.
He backed it up with a story from touring with Tech N9ne, where Kendrick Lamar would watch Tech perform at the end of every show.
