Ontario's Ministry of Transportation staff did not support this. They actually wrote internal reports claiming this will not improve congestion. The entire department has been compromised for a wedge issue from the PCs.
Toronto has become one of the most congested cities in the world.
The Ontario government is preparing to reinstate vehicle lanes on Bloor Street West, Yonge Street and University Avenue.

The GO ALRT Hurontario Line was proposed in 1982 by the Government of Ontario as part of a larger transit project in the GTHA. This line would have connected Port Credit, Mississauga City Centre, and Downtown Brampton to the GO Transit Georgetown and Lakeshore West Lines.

Yesterday an extension of the Hazel McCallion LRT Line to Downtown Brampton was announced! But did you know there were two previous plans to link Mississauga and Brampton together over 50 years ago?

“Today’s funding announcement by the province to extend the Hurontario LRT (Hazel McCallion Line) to #Brampton’s Innovation GO Station in Downtown Brampton is the culmination of years of advocacy to bring back this foundational piece of our public transit network. Under Mayor Brown’s leadership @patrickbrownont , myself and council have been razor focussed on a tunnelled option that retains the heritage of our historic downtown and completes a vital link for transit users.
We are grateful that the provincial government stepped-up with this historic investment. I particularly want to thank our Minister of Transportation and Brampton South MPP @PrabSarkaria for being such an engaged partner.
It has been nearly a decade since council at the time opted out of the LRT to our downtown. We are now catching-up and can look forward to a revitalized downtown, a connected innovation district, investments in our Riverwalk project, housing development, and much more to come.”

The deeper we dig, the cooler the gear gets! At the future Moss Park station, the team is using all kinds of impressive equipment – like this telescopic excavator.
Unlike long-reach excavators that swing from side to side, these excavators are all about up and down action. (1/2)

When the real industry talks about single-family housing, it’s common to use the term “home.” But for non-grade related housing like apartments, it’s “unit.” This is a deeply rooted bias coming through in our choice of language.

Info for people attacking prospective Liberal PM @MarkJCarney:
1. Conservative PM @stephenharper appointed Carney to head the Bank of Canada in 2008.
2. Conservative PM David Cameron appointed Carney to head the Bank of England in 2013.
THEY trusted Carney’s judgment.

Four years ago, in the middle of a pandemic, we needed a leader with the character to put politics aside and do what was right. That’s what @JoeBiden did.
At a time when our economy was reeling, he drove what would become the world’s strongest recovery – with 17 million new jobs, historic wage gains, and lower health care costs. He passed landmark legislation to rebuild our nation’s infrastructure and address the threat of climate change.
I’m grateful to Joe for his leadership, his friendship, and his lifetime of service to this country we love.

I haven’t been genuinely blown away by a transit line before riding Ottawas Line 2 today.
It’s frequent and modern, and requires little infrastructure versus current GO rail, this is the exact model we should use in the GTHA for non-mainline GO services.
