Stan Cho’s math on Ontario’s housing progress. Stating they met 99% of their housing targets. How? By including in-law suites and LTC beds that we already had.

Science faces an existential threat from the Trump administration, which means that a lot of scientists are losing their jobs. Some of us have spoken up against that, at great personal & professional cost.
I am not sure how many of my colleagues truly recognize how much danger our fields are in, much less the broader community. Our health, our food, our economy, our security, our power, our liberty…they all depend on science.
Without it, we are poorer, sicker, weaker, less competitive, dumber, and unable to thrive. Attacking science is attacking society.
In her keynote speech at IDWeek, my friend & colleague @celinegounder honored those who have put their careers on the line as a service to science & to the world in front of thousands of infectious disease experts. She kindly included me in this extraordinary group. I am so grateful to Céline for everything that she has done & continues to do for science & public health. ❤️💪
And after the elections, I am going to have a lot more to say about my own story.

When so many families are struggling just to eat, this excuse doesn’t cut it. That’s OUR tax money. If anyone else did this at their job they would be fired. Like, actually FIRED. No whatever @fordnation did here.

Greens have warned the Ford government for years that Ontario can’t rely on the US to manage our waste.
Now, tariffs have backed Ford into a corner and his solution is to force landfills onto communities and burn our garbage, creating toxic air pollution for everyone.
Once again, the Ford government is forcing communities to pay the price for its failures.

Largest debt ever - with the lowest funded services ever. Plus, Ford consistently fails to protect *any* jobs - even the ones that are Trump/tariff related. 🤦♂️
NEW: The Ford government is planning to run $36 billion in deficits over the next three years, as the province braces for the long-term impact of the trade war with the United States.
That includes a nearly $4B contingency fund for this year, pushing the deficit higher than COVID times.

On Monday, Ontario Liberals are forcing a vote in committee that would call on the auditor general to do a full forensic audit of OSAP.
The Ford Conservatives will likely argue that KPMG is already conducting an audit. But there’s one major difference: KPMG’s findings may never be made public. An Auditor General’s report would be publicly released.
Ontarians deserve to know where their money went, what went wrong, and who is responsible.
The Ford Conservatives have a choice to make on Monday: transparency or secrecy. #onpoli @OntLiberal @LFairclo

Canada’s immigration system is focused on cheap labour. It isn’t “growing the economy” with skilled workers. It is growing profit margins by firing Canadians.
💥 REPORT: Canada's manufacturing lobby has been demanding more foreign workers while the industry has laid off nearly 50k Canadian workers in the past two years.
The Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters lobbied the federal government 94 times in 12 months to remove the 10% foreign-worker cap per plant and to modernize the TFW program—while 40,000 manufacturing jobs vanished from the January 2025 peak and another 13,000 were lost this past year.

This is an excellent article with evidence to back up every corrupt step of the way. It is clear the Ford gov't is a corruption machine driven by bribes, favours and connections all within the PC Party. This may be Ford's "American way" but it is not how we do business in Canada.

"businessman" Doug Ford is without a doubt the worst fiscal manager in Ontario's history
Doug Ford's government is cutting vital services to the bone while overspending on luxury projects.
What we saw in the fall economic statement is what we already knew: Ford's is running the worst government for fiscal management.

It is important to point out that Ontario is responsible for a massive 38% of Canada's economy. Ont. unemployment is at a record high because the Ford gov't is practising drip down economics. Millions of dollars wasted on ads and gifts does not work.

“The Ontario government received more than 220 tips and complaints over 2½ years about three private career colleges, some of which alleged that recruiters were filling out financial aid applications and completing online coursework on students’ behalf and using the province’s student aid program as a marketing tool, according to documents filed in court.” #onpoli

Decisions affecting human life, freedom, and the use of force must always remain subject to effective, informed, and responsible human oversight. For this reason, artificial intelligence must be “disarmed”, and I encourage the States meeting in Geneva in November to take concrete steps toward banning lethal autonomous weapons.
