You say you can’t opt out of Flock, but you can opt out of the mass surveillance device you carry everywhere in your pocket. But have you opted out? Do you intend to opt out? You don’t. Even if you turn location services off, your phone is still trackable. The technology can still be abused, it can still be hacked, your data can, and has been leaked. You don’t dispose of your phone, you continue using a computer, you bank online, you allow a watch to track your health information, you may even have an AirTag in your wallet. You still use credit cards, your car may even track your location. You’re on social media as you read this. You say you *can* opt out, and that’s true, if you choose to live in the Stone Age. None of you actually do it. It’s selective outrage.
