💗 WHY WE WALK | ALISON'S ALLIES 2026 💗 Over 175 people gathered at the 2026 Alison's Allies Walk for Breast Cancer, making this our largest walk ever.  I had the privilege of bringing opening comments.   We walked for many reasons. •We walked to honor the memory of those we have lost to breast cancer and other cancers, including Jayne Coones, Sue Melena's mother, and Jessica Louise Robinson, who lost her life to metastatic triple-negative breast cancer at just 32 years old. •We walked to support those currently in treatment, whose courage reminds us every day what matters most. •And we walked to celebrate survivors, not only breast cancer survivors but survivors of all cancers. Seeing survivor after survivor raise their hand was a powerful reminder of why this work matters.   Alison's Allies has two missions: 🎀 Supporting breast cancer screening for underserved populations because early detection saves lives. 🔬 Supporting innovative breast cancer researchbecause research creates hope.   Every mammogram provided. Every research project funded. Every dollar donated. Every volunteer hour. Every conversation started. Every step taken together.   October is Breast Cancer Awareness Monthwe're reminded that awareness alone is not enough. Awareness must lead to action. A mammogram scheduled. A donation made. A volunteer shift. A walk on a Saturday morning.   These may seem like small acts.  But together, they create ripples that spread far beyond what we can see. They provide screenings. They fund research. They offer hope. They save lives. That is why this year's theme is:  💗 SMALL ACTS. BIG RIPPLE. 💗   Thank you to everyone who walked, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and believed in our mission.   Together, we honor. We remember. We celebrate. And we create hope for future patients and families.   #AlisonsAllies #SmallActsBigRipple #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #BreastCancerResearch #MoreResearchLessCancer #CommunityImpact #PinkOctober 💕

Wow 😮
Aaron Rodgers sat at that podium in Paris and said out loud what the corporate league office spends millions trying to sanitize. The NFL talks endlessly about “player safety” and “expanding the global game.” But behind closed doors, owners scrapped player-friendly bye weeks, forced a brutal 17th regular-season game, and shipped franchises across oceans simply because there was another dollar to squeeze out of foreign TV markets. While families and players navigate locked-down streets, civil tension, and grueling travel schedules, ownership sits in five-star suites counting international expansion checks. Rodgers doesn't care about league fines anymore. He’s telling you the truth: in the modern NFL, the brand and the balance sheet come first. The humans on the field come second.

DigPINK 🎀 VS KC CHIEFS ❤️💛 🏈 Today, I had the opportunity to attend the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Chargers game. Trust me, that was a tempting invitation to accept. But instead, I'll be spending my afternoon and evening with 250 young women volleyball players from five Olathe high schools at their Dig Pink event. When I was first asked to speak, I hesitated. The Dig Pink program begins at 6:00 p.m., and kickoff is at 3:45 p.m. There was simply no way to make it to both. As a lifelong Chiefs fan, I had some serious thinking to do. But after further consideration, the choice became clear. 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐇𝐢𝐠𝐡 𝐒𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐥𝐬. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐚𝐮𝐬𝐞. These student-athletes are raising money for the Side-Out Foundation, which funds research and support efforts focused on metastatic breast cancer, the stage of breast cancer responsible for nearly all breast cancer deaths. I'm honored to share the stage with 𝘾𝙞𝙣𝙙𝙮 𝙈𝙞𝙩𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙣, an elementary music teacher at Indian Creek Elementary and an inspiring metastatic breast cancer thriver. Together, we'll have the opportunity to speak about the impact of this disease and the importance of continuing to fund research that gives hope to patients and families. Tonight is about more than volleyball 🏐. It's about education, awareness, compassion, and empowering young women to make a real difference in the lives of others. So right up until the event begins, I'll be cheering on my beloved KC Chiefs. But when it's time to take the stage, I'll be dressed in pink, with a Chiefs pin on my lapel right next to my "I Am a Survivor" pin. And honestly, I can't think of a better place to be if I’m not at the 🏟️. I hope you'll join me in supporting these incredible young women as they raise funds for this important cause. Their leadership, generosity, and commitment to helping others are exactly the kind of victories worth celebrating [along with the KC Chiefs!]. 💗🏐🏈 #DigPink #SideOutFoundation #MetastaticBreastCancer #FiveHighSchoolsOneCause #BreastCancerAwareness #ChiefsKingdom #Survivor #AlisonsAllies #OlatheSchools

Although they aren’t 100% perfect, mammograms are safe and can detect up to 93% of breast cancers. Thank you all for the incredible birthday wishes shared through social media, texts, emails, messages, phone calls, and DMs. One of the greatest gifts was hearing from people I've connected with through so many different chapters of my life, including high school friends, college friends, former colleagues, church friends, breast cancer allies, and family. Your kindness, encouragement, and friendship mean more than you know. And so many memories! Thank you for making my birthday so special. What a wonderful reminder that small acts of kindness truly create big ripples. I am grateful for every message and for each of you. 💗🌊 💕 💗
Today is my birthday 🎂 , and I am very blessed. ❤️ I am surrounded by family, friends, and so many special people whose lives have touched mine. I am a cancer survivor, something I never take for granted. I am fortunate to be able to pay it forward by supporting breast cancer screening, care, and research through the nonprofit 𝘼𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙤𝙣’𝙨 𝘼𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙨. 🎀 Last weekend, more than 175 people and hundreds of donors joined me in those efforts. Some walkers and donors have supported this cause since 2010, helping us raise more than $350,000 for breast cancer programs and research. And that’s not counting the 2026 donations! ✨I am also privileged to support young people through the 𝙊𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙔𝙤𝙪𝙩𝙝 𝙎𝙮𝙢𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙮, the 𝘿𝙧. 𝘽. 𝙈𝙪𝙨𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 𝙁𝙪𝙣𝙙, Olathe high school 𝘿𝙞𝙜 𝙋𝙞𝙣𝙠™ events, my service on the 𝙐𝙣𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙎𝙖𝙞𝙣𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙮 𝘽𝙤𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙤𝙛 𝙏𝙧𝙪𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙚𝙨, and other organizations. Young people are our hope for the future! 🥺Too many people I care about leave this life far too soon. Their loss reminds me how fragile life can be and how precious each day truly is. 🥳 So, happy birthday to me! Thank you for the wonderful birthday wishes and messages I have already received. 🧐 Plans for the day? It's a bye week for the The Kansas City Chiefs, so I'm taking a "bye Sunday" of my own, reflecting on the many small acts of kindness that have blessed my life and created ripples far beyond what any of us could imagine. Enjoy the moment. Have a blessed day. I know I will. 💗

💗 JAYNE COONES HOPE AWARD RECIPIENT: CAMY STAMPS CRANK 💗 This morning at the 28th Jared Coones Memorial Pumpkin Run 🧡🎃, I had the privilege of nominating & introducing Camy Stamps Crank as the recipient of the 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐧𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐇𝐎𝐏𝐄 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝.   🎀 Presented in memory of Jayne Coones, whose breast cancer journey inspired others through her 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙩𝙝, 𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙖𝙜𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚, this award honors an individual who embodies that same spirit.   🎀 Camy is truly deserving.  Living with metastatic breast cancer (mBC), Camy faces a diagnosis in which breast cancer has spread beyond the breast to other parts of the body. While treatments can prolong life and improve quality of life, there is currently no cureYET! Still Camy chooses to live each day with purpose, determination, and hope.   💖 As a long-time supporter and team member of Alison’s Allies, Camy is a passionate advocate for ᴍᴇᴛᴀsᴛᴀᴛɪᴄ ʙʀᴇᴀsᴛ ᴄᴀɴᴄᴇʀ (mBC) research and awareness. She generously shares her story to educate and inspire others, participates in clinical trials that advance the understanding and treatment of mBC, and helps create hope for future patients through the research being conducted today.   📖 Camy is also the author of 𝑯𝒂𝒊𝒓 𝑻𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝑮𝒐𝒏𝒆𝑻𝒐𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒓𝒐𝒘 and an inspiration to so many. Her 𝒇𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉, 𝒉𝒖𝒎𝒐𝒓, 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒏𝒈𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒕𝒐 𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒑 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒔 find strength in difficult circumstances exemplify the very meaning of hope.   👟 And if anyone needed another example of her determination, Camy walked the entire 5K Pumpkin Run this morning! 💪🎃   When I think of HOPE, I think of Camy.  𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐞. 𝐇𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧ce! 💖
Metastatic breast cancer, also known as stage IV or MBC, is breast cancer that has spread to another part of the body. While it is a lifelong disease, advancements in care have made it possible for many people to continue living full and meaningful lives after diagnosis with ongoing treatment. Together, we can show up for our friends and loved ones living with MBC, share stories of hope, honor members of our community who are no longer with us, and bring attention—and action—to the urgent need for more stage IV research and support. 💚🩵🩷 Share your story or a note of support in the comments. 💬 🫶 #metastaticbreastcancer #breastcancer #breastcancerawareness #metavivor

DIC MOBILE MAMMOGRAPHY VAN: MORE THAN A DISPLAY, A LEARNING EXPERIENCE 💖🚐 The Diagnostic Imaging Center (DIC) Mobile Mammography Van made its first appearance at the Alison's Allies Walk for Breast Cancer, and it quickly became one of the most popular stops of the morning! 🌟 A special thank you to Abbie Sanderson, whose idea it was to bring the van to the walk and provide a unique opportunity for our participants to learn more about breast cancer screening and early detection.   ☺️ One of my favorite moments was touring the van with a group of our high school volunteers. I was so impressed by their curiosity and engagement. They listened intently to every word, asked thoughtful questions, and were especially interested in learning about the education and training required to become a mammography technologist. Their enthusiasm gave me great hope for the future.    🎀 A heartfelt thank you to Kathy Ewing, who generously took the time to explain every aspect of the mammography process and demonstrate the technology behind 3D mammograms. For many visitors, especially those who have never had a mammogram, it was an eye-opening experience. Kathy helped make the process less intimidating while emphasizing the importance of early detection.   🔬 What made the experience even more meaningful was watching our breast cancer researchers interact with the technology and learn more about the screening process. It created a powerful connection between the research they conduct, the importance of early intervention, and the real-life experience of patients.   🚐 And we can't forget the skilled driver, Mark Ledowski (please correct spelling if needed!), whose ability to maneuver and position the mobile unit was impressive in itself!    💝 We're also grateful to Diagnostic Imaging Centersfor their partnership. Funds raised through Alison's Allies help provide mammograms for underserved women in our community, helping ensure access to lifesaving screening services.    💖 Finally, thank you to our wonderful neighbors, Chris & Mike Kaza and Ginny & Steve Beene, for graciously allowing their driveways to be blocked for a couple of hours so the van could be part of this special event.   Small Acts. Big Ripple. A mobile mammography van, an engaged group of students, dedicated healthcare professionals, and passionate researchers all came together to create a powerful reminder that early detection saves lives. 🎗️💕   #AlisonsAllies #MammographyMatters #EarlyDetectionSavesLives #SmallActsBigRipple #FutureHealthcareLeaders #BreastCancerAwareness #CommunityImpact
