👏Mike was the American Committee of Medical Entomology (ACME) Secretary/Treasurer in '94-95, ACME Chair '95-96 and '05-06.
The insect tattoo shown is a triatomine or "kissing bug". They are vectors of Chagas’ disease (American trypanosomiasis). The disease is named after Brazilian physician Carlos Chagas, who first described it in 1909.

The major transmission route of Trypanosoma cruzi is vectorborne. Infection is acquired through contact with the feces of an infected triatomine bug (or kissing bug), a blood-sucking insect that feeds on humans and animals. lnkd.in/gYnj7Cjf
