A player who already has three Premier League goals and three assists? What exactly are we measuring here? Football ability or personal preference? Let’s not even pretend that Palmer has suddenly forgotten how to play football. This is a player who has consistently delivered for Chelsea. A player who can change a game in five minutes. A player who can create something out of absolutely nothing. And you are telling me that there is no room for him in your squad? I am sorry, but I don’t buy that explanation. If you want to tell me Palmer is not fit enough, then come out and say it. If there is an injury problem, explain it. But if you are telling me that two young players with absolutely nothing to show statistically deserve that opportunity more than Cole Palmer, then I have serious questions. And let me tell you something. I have watched Chelsea players being treated differently by England managers for years. This is beginning to look like another example. Sometimes I genuinely wonder whether certain people have a problem with Chelsea players receiving recognition. You cannot tell me that a player with three goals and three assists is not good enough, while selecting players who haven’t registered a single goal contribution in eight league appearances. What message are you sending to every young Chelsea player watching this? That no matter how well you perform, your place in the England squad is not guaranteed because somebody somewhere has already made up their mind about you? I am not asking Tuchel to select every Chelsea player. I am asking him to be fair. And honestly, this looks like an agenda against Chelsea. I don’t care how uncomfortable that sounds. Cole Palmer deserves to be in that squad. There is no excuse for leaving him out based on footballing reasons. You can respect Tuchel as a manager and still question his decisions. But don’t expect Chelsea fans to sit quietly and pretend this selection makes sense. Because if Cole Palmer played for certain other clubs, I honestly believe this conversation would be very different.”
