Starbucks. Why the fuck would anyone go into a place with facial recognition tech for an average cup of overpriced coffee?
Starbucks CEO says the company is planning to focus more on AI and tech, including adding a system that would recognize customers as they arrive in stores to "present personalized digital menus."

I'd not heard of this before. It seems logical to dive in.

Bless. Right thought, wrong theme tune. 🖖

European Movement UK is saddened by the passing of Patrick Stewart, a legendary actor and European advocate. Here’s a brilliant sketch he starred in from 2016 defending the European Convention on Human Rights.

Patrick Stewart took a different approach to the Ice Bucket Challenge. Instead of pouring ice water over himself, he quietly wrote a cheque, poured himself a drink over ice and raised a glass. Even his charity work came with impeccable style. RIP, Sir Patrick Stewart. 🕊️

Don't go to France and film yourselves being a menace then. It's quite simple....
Admin post. Today is an incredibly difficult day for five friends of mine Ay Audits, Steven Cridland, Dec Lea, Ash Denzil, The patriotic Biker who have been arrested in France and are now being taken through the court process. After spending nearly 24 hours in custody, being held in cells and facing an extremely difficult experience, they are now going straight into court. It’s hard to comprehend how exhausting, frightening and overwhelming this must be, particularly when they have had so little time to process everything that has happened. Today, I’m hoping the proceedings are fair, that their voices are properly heard, that they have access to the legal support they need and that they are treated with the respect every person deserves. Thinking of all five of them and their families today. Sending strength to them all.🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧

This carries true for all media. Bad news travels further and the media ecosystem plays along with it for engagement.

What a heartbreaking week it has been. Sir Patrick Stewart was a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor. From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work. My heart goes out to Sunny and his family. He will be deeply missed.

This is in incredibly poor taste. I'll be surprised if the tweet last the next 24 hours. Remarkably tone deaf.
Very happy to have been shortlisted in the Specialist Journalism category in this year's British Journalism Awards for my investigation into Cambridge University professor Jason Arday and the extensive plagiarism in his PhD thesis #BJA2026
