My eyes were wet from start to finish. I thought of being little in a big world & watching my son's first tries at this mad game. ESPN's Open to the NHL season is beautiful. I didn't expect to cry today-this is stunning. There's nothing like this sport. We at ESPN love the sport as you do. ❤️ Enjoy.

It is despicable how media outlets are dog-piling on Don Johnson’s daughter for trying to help her parents.
In case you haven't seen the viral video, Don is an 81-year-old veteran working as a lost luggage delivery man to pay for his wife’s pancreatic cancer treatments. When video of him hauling heavy luggage up the stairs went viral, his daughter, Amy, set up a GoFundMe to help him finally retire and care for his wife. Good Samaritans pitched in more than $700,000 to help the Johnsons. But they didn't see a single penny of that money. GoFundMe quickly took down the fundraiser and refunded all of the donations. Why? Because his daughter used a pseudonym to set it up in order to preserve her privacy.
Of course, the media decided to pile on, jumping at the chance to tear them down. It’s disgusting, but the Johnsons are NOT giving up and NEITHER ARE WE.
They have a new GiveSendGo campaign live right now. So let’s do what America does best and help this hero take care of his wife.

Everyone says NHL players are the toughest but in honor of Caleb Williams grade 1 hamstring strain, here is Kyle Palmieri crying in pain for the same exact thing.
Just kidding, he tore his ACL, stole the puck and got an assist on the same play.

🚨Unpopular opinion:
If you follow Jesus, there is no good reason to put pronouns in your bio.
Not because we hate people. Because we love God and honor His Word. Rewriting creation to keep the peace is not kindness.
"Male and female he created them.” Genesis 1:27
Jesus didn’t soften it: the Creator “made them male and female.” Matthew 19:4
Your body is not a costume. Your profile is not a creed. Love your neighbor. Tell the truth. Stand firm. Jesus spoke plainly. We should too..

What a Story Clint 🙏. The Clemente award is the One I cherish Most 🏆❤️
I kept this story in my pocket for a long time....
September 15th is Roberto Clemente Day.
Every year in Pittsburgh the whole organization fans out across the city. It's like Christmas. Roberto's family is there, Vera and the boys.
My first year as manager in Pittsburgh was 2011. We celebrated. We shook hands and moved on.
We didn't win.
19 consecutive losing seasons.
2012 rolls around. Same day, same celebration. We had another losing season, our 20th consecutive.
After the ceremony, Roberto Jr. walked over.
"My mom wants to talk to you."
We went into the dugout. Me, Vera, and her three sons.
She spoke in Spanish. I played four years of winter ball so I understood enough. She wasn't angry, but she was passionate. And I kept hearing Roberto's number come up.
Roberto Jr. translated.
"My mother wants you to know that there cannot be a 21st losing season. That was Roberto's number. It would be a disgrace to his legacy."
She was staring right at me.
Before I could even think about what to say, words came out of my mouth:
"I promise you, Vera. That won't happen."
Roberto Jr. looked at me and said, "You made my mom a promise. I hope you can keep it."
I said, "I hope I can keep it too."
I didn't tell my coaches. I didn't tell the players. I told my wife. That was it.
The next year, 2013, we broke the consecutive seasons losing streak. Ended it at 20.
On Roberto Clemente Day that September, Vera came walking across that field.
And I probably got one of the most meaningful hugs I've ever received in my life.
The players did all the heavy lifting. I just got the hug.
Some promises are worth making before you know if you can keep them.

Energy drinks are not healthy. Nor are the sugar-free.
Occasional use by a healthy adult is not a medical emergency, but they are a concentrated stimulant cocktail plus acids and additives that provide zero benefits to long-term health.
Typical energy drinks deliver:
❌A large fast dose of caffeine (often 80–300+ mg),
❌Guarana (extra caffeine), taurine, ginseng, L-carnitine, and high-dose B vitamins.
That combination is not the same as a cup of coffee. Acute effects in healthy adults include rises in systolic and diastolic blood pressure and cardiac output. 🫀
Reviews also report increased heart rate, sympathetic activation, and in some studies QTc prolongation an ECG change linked to arrhythmia risk.
Case reports and reviews have associated heavy use with palpitations, atrial fibrillation, ventricular arrhythmias, and rare events such as cardiac arrest, even in young people.
Healthy adults are generally considered able to tolerate up to about 400 mg of caffeine per day from all sources.
One large can, or two, can eat most of that budget, and extra sources (coffee, tea, pre-workout, chocolate) stack quickly.
Sensitive people, those with heart conditions, people on certain medications, and pregnant people have a lower safe threshold.
Sugar-free does not make them metabolically neutral. Removing sugar avoids a large calorie and glucose load, which is better than the sugary versions.
Mouse studies found that chronic intake of sugar-free energy drinks still produced metabolic-syndrome–like changes:
⚠️higher blood glucose
⚠️higher triglycerides
⚠️insulin resistance
⚠️more body fat without necessarily changing total body weight similar in direction to sugared energy drinks.
🐛Artificial sweeteners commonly used (sucralose, acesulfame-K, aspartame) are not calorie-free in their biological effects.
Evidence is mixed, but they have been linked to changes in gut bacteria, possible effects on glucose handling, and observational associations with cardiovascular and metabolic outcomes.
They also keep a very sweet taste preference going.
🚫 They are still hard on teeth
Sugar-free drinks skip the cavity-feeding sugar, but they are usually very acidic (often pH ~2.2–3.5).
🦷Enamel starts demineralizing around pH 5.5. Citric and phosphoric acids plus carbonation can erode enamel with frequent sipping. That damage is permanent; it is not the same as a cavity, but it is still real wear.
Everyday side effects that show up even in adults Common reported effects include insomnia, jitteriness, restlessness, GI upset, anxiety, and dependence-like use (you “need” one to function).
Sleep loss then feeds the next day’s craving for another can. Mixing with alcohol is particularly unwise: stimulants mask intoxication and raise risk of overdrinking and cardiac strain.
High-dose B vitamins in these drinks rarely correct a deficiency; they mostly make expensive urine.
Energy drinks are not healthy for children or adults.

This is amazing. The Left has been trashing this guy all week only to find out that he was the only black person on the jury, getting hounded by bossy white women. Just perfect.

Someone invited me to an event on a Sunday. They said, “It’s just one Sunday. Not a big deal. You’d reach more people for Christ if you came.” I said no. I won’t skip church.
This isn’t about religion or routine. It’s about a relationship with Him. Church is part of how I stay connected to Christ. I didn’t always feel this way. Since fully surrendering my life to Him in 2020, gathering with His people has been crucial. I listen to sermons throughout the week and make a point to be in church wherever I am even when I travel. Staying connected to the vine so He abides in me is what is best for me. If you want your horizontal relationships to improve, focus on your vertical relationship with Christ first.
I’m not saying this for anyone else. But name a season when you stopped going to church. Then name a season when you went consistently. People usually regret the sermons they missed and the community they stepped away from. I’ve never come across someone who said, “I really regret going to church.” Same way I’ve never heard anyone say they regret the workout.
How would you feel if I asked you to skip work?
Or skip the gym?
Or skip dinner with your family?
Church isn’t just another slot on the calendar or a box to check. I value being in community and studying God’s Word. I look forward to it every week. It’s the people of God gathering around the Word, the table, and one another.
GO TO CHURCH 🙌
