Today, on National Latinx AIDS Awareness Day, we celebrate the resilience, leadership and power of Latine communities while recommitting ourselves to the work ahead.
Ending the HIV epidemic means ensuring our communities have access to the tools they need to thrive — culturally responsive HIV prevention, testing and treatment; affordable health care; accurate information; and services that meet people where they are.
It also means confronting stigma, inequity and the policies that create barriers to care.
At AIDS United, we know Latine communities aren’t simply part of the response — we are leaders in it.
Hoy y todos los días: nuestras historias, nuestra salud, nuestro poder.

❤️ Today is National Latino AIDS Awareness Day (NLAAD)!
This year’s theme, “Knowing Your HIV Status Is a Good Place to Start,” highlights how knowing your HIV status can be an important first step in taking care of your health and building healthy relationships with yourself and others.
HIV continues to disproportionately affect Hispanic/Latino communities. In 2024, Hispanic/Latino people accounted for nearly one-third of new HIV diagnoses in the United States, with 12,860 new diagnoses reported.
Getting tested for HIV is an important part of knowing your status. This #NLAAD, learn more about HIV testing and find resources for HIV self-testing at together.takemehome.org. 💻❤️
