Happy Halloween! Ask you favorite AI which Halloween character are you based on what it knows about you. Morticia Addams The Addams Family (1991) Not because you're spooky. Because you have a distinctly Morticia approach to life. Morticia Addams with a high-end workstation, AI tools, and absolutely no patience for incompetence.

Ten sci-fi stories, turned into phone wallpapers. Sheckley, Clarke, Asimov, Lem and the Strugatsky brothers. This one is my favorite: The Store of the Worlds. A glowing door to paradise in the middle of ruins. If you know the story, you know why. All ten below 👇

Monday Begins on Saturday, Arkady and Boris Strugatsky (1965) A research institute for sorcery and wizardry, Soviet style, with a learned cat named Vasily who forgets the endings of his fairy tales. The title says it all: for people who love their work, the week never ends.

Roadside Picnic, Arkady and Boris Strugatsky (1972) Aliens stopped on Earth like tourists on a picnic and left their trash behind. In the Zone sits the Golden Sphere, said to grant any wish. It became Tarkovsky's Stalker, and gave Russian the word "stalker" in this meaning.

The Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, rebuilt as phone wallpapers. Only one of them still exists. The rest lost to earthquakes, fire, and one man who really wanted to be famous. A fact for each one below 👇

The Lighthouse of Alexandria, on the island of Pharos. Over 100 meters tall with a fire burning on top. The island gave the lighthouse its name in several languages: phare, faro. Divers found its stone blocks on the floor of Alexandria's harbor in the 1990s.

The Colossus of Rhodes. A 33 meter bronze Helios. It stood for only about 54 years before an earthquake snapped it at the knees. And no, it never straddled the harbor. The pieces lay on the ground for 800 years, and tourists still came to stare at them.
