This week, @AIMSacza & @GongAfrican welcome participants to the 4th WAFIRA (Women’s Advancement Forum: International Exchanges, Research & Academia) workshop. Over 3 days, young and emerging women researchers in the Mathematical Sciences will build capacity, confidence and networks through leadership development, skills building, mentorship and strategic networking. We’re excited to welcome 15 Honours female students from SMU, whose participation brings valuable new perspectives and further enriches our pan-African cohort of female Masters’ students at AIMS South Africa. This year also features a session for AIMS male students, strengthening their capacity to become allies and co-leaders in advancing women in STEM. The workshop will bring together international researchers to explore the theoretical foundations of quantum machine learning, quantum algorithms and their connections to cryptography.
