Back-to-school reminds us of something we see every day: behind every young reader is a teacher helping them build the skills and confidence to succeed. Last year, through AIM Institute for Learning & Research's Early Reading Success Schools initiative, educators across 10 schools strengthened their knowledge of evidence-based early literacy instruction while putting that learning into practice with K-1 students. Thanks to funding from the Raphael Family Foundation and our partnership with DonorsChoose, participating educators also selected books, instructional materials, games, and other resources to support their classrooms: 📚 890 books delivered 🧩 456 educational kits and games provided ✏️ 356 classroom basics shared 👩‍🏫 74 teachers supported 📖 1,554 students reached Evidence-based literacy knowledge matters. So do the resources that help educators put that knowledge into practice. When educators have both, stronger literacy instruction can take root in the classroom and make a difference for young readers.
