"The Collected Poems is an essential addition to every Tolkien scholar or aficionado’s shelf...its existence is a reminder that a truly humane postmodernism needs something of the Professor’s genius for subcreation." - Michael Lucchese buff.ly/ycbqVp5 @ubookman

"Each poem is carefully placed and formally varied, weaving lyrics and more narrative pieces together into a cohesive book of poetry. Best of all, Shindler doesn’t overstay his welcome. He sings well and leaves us ready to hear some more." @DanRattelle

the reckoning kept coming faster
until the moment flowed
toward disaster

Another zinger by @amjuster. And no, my middle initial is not "A" (unless it was changed in witness protection...)
Thanks to @JosephBottum & @SallyThomasNC for publishing my latest poem, "Epistle to a Friend Confused about the Ivy League":

Arion highlights author A.M. Juster. A selection from his Aristophanes’ Gerytades (well, sort of...) appears in our newest issue, now in press. You can learn more about A.M. Juster and his interesting journey to Gerytades here: antigonejournal.com/2024/02/….

Later this morning I am being interviewed for the @TheAthenaeumRev podcast about #Gerytades.
It's a fine journal that has been very supportive of my work over the past five years, and it would be worth your time to check it out.

So I have been doing Twitter for a long time now & I have never asked for feedback, so I suppose it's time for me to open up a thread for thoughtful, carefully couched suggestions that respect my notorious fragility.
Go ahead...

The reputation of my temper precedes me!
Had a long dream that we published a great heroic crown of sonnets by @amjuster with a glaring typo in the title and page footers. Was relieved to wake up. It's the editor's equivalent of the one about having to take a final exam for the class we skipped all semester.

The literary establishment is inbred and smothering; evading it through creative use of the Internet is our best hope for excellence.

"Japanese Maple in January" ran twelve years ago.
This morning a giant rabbit jumped on the wall next to that maple and started nibbling on its branches.
I called my useless springer, but she was too happy curled up next to my bride to respond.

It's a poem with no end-rhyme, but internal #rhyme in each line to keep it moving.
