Two things are clear to me from today's (Monday November 2) Indian English newspapers' headlines & lead stories:
1. Modi government unlikely to survive even one year. Why? Because there is no way it will be able to shelter the CEC for too long. This message is in the wind.
2. The new @IAF_MCC chief's tenure will be lacklusture. When the top IAF officer converts the air domain (VAYU meaning AIR) into an acroymn (where each word of VAYU stands for a quality), it is enough evidence that he will follow footsteps of the Master of Acroymns (all know who he is. We have innumerable acroynms from him in past 12 years). So, it will, unfortunately, be more rherotic than substance!

Total NPAs as of 31/03/2014 - ₹ 2,27,043 Crore
Total recovery through Judicial Procedures and Settlement of outstanding NPAs - ₹ 26,747 Crore
Total recovery through CRISIL and Debt Purchasers - ₹ 12,729 Crore
Total Write Offs / Loss booked - ₹ 1,87,567 Crore
82.61% of all bad loans were WRITTEN OFF and Booked as Losses and absorbed
Only 17.39% of all bad loans were recovered between 2014 April 1 and 2026 March 31
So the narrative that Modi Governments miraculously turned banks around is nonsense
They simply sold capital of the bank to LIC, and wrote off major loans with very little actual recovery
There are still 20,200 cases to recover the balance amount in various courts
