“I am really sad to inform all my fans and supporters that I unfortunately have to withdraw from the WTA Finals this year. I’ve had an incredible season but my body is just not physically ready to compete. I’m going to spend some time resting and recovering at home and getting myself ready for the 2027 season. The WTA Finals is a very special tournament and I wish everyone the best of luck this week. Can’t wait to be back in Indian Wells in March!”
Very sad news that she won’t have the chance to defend her title, but she’s achieved so many incredible things this year… she is finishing the year as the best player in the world.

Under the Earned Settlement model set out before Parliament today, the right to live in the UK permanently will no longer be granted automatically after five years.
Instead, it will be earned.
Under the reforms:
➡️The standard route to settlement will double from five to 10 years
➡️ People who enter illegally, including by small boat, face a wait of up to 30 years to settle
➡️ Care workers who meet the visa requirements will retain a five-year route
➡️ Higher earners on more than £50,000, skilled public service workers and refugees arriving on safe and legal routes will be able to settle in five years
➡️ Migrants who claim benefits face a 20-year wait for settlement
➡️ Migrants with a criminal record will be prevented from settling in the UK
➡️ Migrants will be required to meet A-level standard English to settle in the UK
