Say whatever you want about the NBA Cup, but the Nets should have extra incentive. They have 8 players on rookie-scale contracts and another 3 on two-way deals. Oh yeah, a win would go a long way too. @NetsDaily netsdaily.com/nets-game-prev…

Nets should continue celebrating their history by bringing out the Brooklyn Knight out tonight for Halloween. That'd really scare the crowd

If you needed any more evidence the Nets are committed to the Flatbush 5, the historic Draft class were all exercised through 2027-28. Patience remains the theme @NetsDaily netsdaily.com/nets-news/1154…

#Flatbush5 lives to fight another day: OFFICIAL: The Nets have exercised the third-year team options on Egor Demin, Drake Powell, Ben Saraf, Nolan Traore and Danny Wolf. The five will earn a little less than $25m in 2027-28. That’s 14% of salary cap for one third of roster.

The big-picture implications of Mikel Brown Jr.’s performance were far more encouraging than the pain of another moral victory. At least I’d say. @NetsDaily netsdaily.com/nets-analysis/…

Notes on Nets 2025 Draft class: • Nolan Traore dropped 15 points in his 1st start of the season. Exited the game early • Egor Dëmin left early & didn’t return • Danny Wolf: DNP-CD • Ben Saraf & Drake Powell were on G-League assignment

Cruel night for Brooklyn. Late in the 4th, virtually no chance at winning until Mikel Brown Jr. stepped in — 16 points in the 4th/OT and knocked down a ton of clutch buckets. Minutes restriction. Sat out Sunday. Made an error in the final seconds and Jayson Tatum made him pay.

The sample size is small, but it’s clear the Nets are a far better team with Mikel Brown Jr. on the floor. Things fall into place when the floor dictator is leading the ship and it’s clear he’s that guy. Easy to forget he’s a rookie.

Jordi Fernandez confirmed that Mikel Brown Jr. is not dealing with a new back injury. The rookie is "doing great," and his designation for tonight's game is strictly preventative.
For those asking about Mikel’s back injury management designation, this minutes restriction was always about more than his ankle. It’s about managing his initial workload after he missed the second half of last season and most of the preseason. Jordi Fernandez quote to me ahead of the opener ⬇️ “The reality is when you get drafted, it's a very tough summer. You do all these workouts right into Summer League. You almost don't have a break, and then you go into training camp. And that's why we always say the most important summer is that next summer, because you can work the whole way through and focus on your body… And then I think you're more equipped, plus you have the experience under your belt. But that first summer, you just throw them into the fire. So we just want to be careful. And one of the reasons why Mikel is in that minutes restriction is because we have to be careful with him and not get too excited. And I think that's the right thing to do for him and for the team.”

The theme is patience. Nets will sit Mikel Brown Jr. in the 2nd night of a back-to-back. He finished with 8 points in 20 minutes last night. Nets-Pacers preview @NetsDaily: netsdaily.com/nets-game-prev…
