My thanks to @terrorismpolice for their swift work in apprehending a boy who allegedly planned to target two mosques in south London. It is deeply unsettling to see someone so young charged with offences of this nature.
I know how concerning this will be to the Muslim community just days after a foiled attack at an Islamic festival in Suffolk.
The police have confirmed there is no wider threat and they are not seeking other suspects in connection with this investigation. They have stepped up patrols in the affected areas, and they have my full support. Everyone in this country should be able to worship free from fear, intimidation or hatred.
This is deeply worrying and sends a deeply dangerous message to Muslims living in Northern Ireland, especially after the events of recent weeks.

Horrific attack in Edinburgh.
Anti muslim hatred has run rampant in Britain. It has been whipped to frenzied levels by those on the far right for their political gain. These are the real world consequences.
My thoughts are with Britain’s muslim community.
A 36-year-old man has been arrested after a series of violent attacks across Edinburgh, appearing to target Muslims, which left five people injured.

Appalling! My thoughts are with those injured and the wider Muslim community.
These attacks do not happen in a vacuum. The constant normalisation of anti-Muslim hatred and divisive rhetoric has real-world consequences.
We must always challenge hatred wherever it appears and stand united against those who seek to divide us.

A horrifying anti-Muslim attack in broad daylight in Edinburgh has reportedly left 5 people injured.
Thankfully, there were no fatalities.
The constant fanning of hatred and extremism has consequences and we are sadly seeing more and more open attacks against ordinary British Muslims.

My heart goes out to all those hurt in the hateful attacks in Edinburgh, and I wish them a full recovery.
This was a shameful, organised and targeted attack on Muslims - no one should be attacked for who they are or their beliefs, and seemingly targeted going to and from their place of worship.
Thank you to our Counter Terror police and Police Scotland for working, as ever, to keep us all safe.

I am horrified by news of the attack in Edinburgh.
I am grateful to the police and emergency services for their bravery in apprehending the suspect and for their speedy response in attending to the victims.
The suspect appears to be motivated by anti-Muslim hatred.
There is no place for hatred and violence against Muslims. I know it is not who we are as a country.

Absolutely appalling.
No one should face violence on our streets. The suspect appears to be motivated by anti-Muslim hatred. I will not tolerate this - he will face the full force of the law.
My thoughts are with those who are injured and I thank the police and the emergency services for their response.
