When the spotlight comes back to Web3 gaming, if you get rugged, it's your fault. If you invest in another Ponzi, an unproven concept or a brand-new team that has done nothing but announce promises, you're putting yourself at unnecessary risk. For a Web3 game to succeed, WE NEED a working flywheel that allows the business to generate sustainable revenue. We NEED teams that are committed to building and won't abandon their projects the moment market conditions or sentiment turn negative. Teams need to prove they can build, deliver and run a sustainable business before asking people for money. And as investors, we should be demanding exactly that. Don't get me wrong. The first sentence is purely a hook. You can do everything right and still get scammed. But being more careful with our money isn't negotiable anymore. We've seen countless projects take advantage of hype, raise money and disappear when things don't go their way. We've been through this cycle enough times to know better. If Web3 gaming is going to make a comeback, we need to stop blindly funding promises and start demanding proof.

Web3/crypto gaming is NOT making a comeback right now. Don't get caught up in that narrative. I'll let you know when things start getting interesting. It's the same 3,000 players hopping from one project to another. The real comeback will happen when we start reaching the 8 billion people in the world. Think about that. 3,000 out of 8 billion. That's just 0.0000375%. That alone should put things into perspective.

"I'm leaving Web3 gaming. I'll come back when things get better." I've been seeing this sentiment more and more lately. Here's the thing... If you walk away when things get tough and only come back when the money starts flowing again, don't be surprised if you're left behind. The relationships you build during the hard times can be worth far more than any contract. I understand people need to make a living. I do too. I work a regular 9 to 5, have a family, and still find time to show up because I genuinely care about Web3 gaming. If the opportunities aren't paying enough right now, there's nothing wrong with finding work elsewhere. But that doesn't mean you have to abandon the space entirely. You can still contribute, support projects, create content, and build relationships without expecting a paycheck every time. You can't expect to be part of the comeback if you're only willing to show up when things are good.

Roblox works on many of the same principles as Web3 gaming. The biggest difference is that Roblox is a platform that allows people to create games rather than being a game itself. And the economy they've built around it is pretty fucking interesting. Here's how it works: 1. LIMITED AVATAR ITEMS (NFTs) Roblox has Limited Avatar Items, which are tradable digital collectibles that holders can resell at prices they set themselves. These items are initially sold at a fixed price, similar to an NFT mint. After that, holders can resell them on the marketplace, where Roblox takes a cut of every transaction. For Roblox-created Limiteds, sellers receive 70% of the resale price. Meaning that if you bought an item for 1,000 Robux, you would need to sell it for approximately 1,429 Robux just to get your initial investment back. And yes, these items can be worth A LOT of money. Some of the rarest Roblox items are traded through unofficial markets for thousands of dollars because of their scarcity and demand. Those real-money trades aren't allowed under Roblox's rules, but the demand exists regardless. 2. ROBUX (THE CURRENCY) Roblox also has its own currency, Robux, which players purchase using real money. And here's where things get interesting. Using US website prices, buying around 1,200 Robux costs approximately $12. But when eligible developers exchange their Earned Robux through DevEx, Roblox pays them at a standard rate of just $4.56 per 1,200 Robux. There's also a catch. You need a minimum of 30,000 Earned Robux to cash out. At that rate, Roblox pays developers $114 for 30,000 Robux. Meanwhile, buying roughly the same amount costs players around $260 through larger packages. That's approximately a 56% difference between the purchase price and the developer payout. And it gets even bigger with smaller purchases. For example, buying 500 Robux for $4.99 repeatedly would cost $299.40 to reach 30,000 Robux. Compared to the $114 standard developer payout, that's a difference of almost 62%. Now, this isn't Roblox's actual profit margin, and only Robux earned through eligible activities can be exchanged through DevEx. But the point is that Roblox has built an economy where players spend real money, developers get paid and the platform generates revenue from the activity happening across its ecosystem. And it's working. a Web2 gaming platform that built a community of people who love playing games and creating experiences. Games go viral on social media, attract millions of players, generate revenue for their developers and help the platform grow even further. And just look at the numbers. In 2025, Roblox generated: $4.9 BILLION in revenue. 36% year-over-year revenue growth. in October 2025, Steal a Brainrot reached over 25.8 MILLION concurrent players in a SINGLE game. Now think about it. Isn't this exactly the type of economy that Web3 technology allows us to build? Virtual currencies, tradable digital assets, secondary marketplaces and an ecosystem where players and developers can both benefit from the activity happening inside it. Roblox has built an entire ecosystem around games people genuinely want to play. The economy exists because people care about the games, not because they're expecting an airdrop or trying to flip the next NFT collection. Roblox has already proven that virtual gaming economies can generate billions of dollars. And you're telling me that Web3 gaming doesn't make sense?

Good Morning 🌞 I was part of BloodLoop’s awareness campaign for its upcoming Play to Airdrop event. The project had raised $4M, built a huge social following, grown its Discord, and claimed 350K+ registrations interested in its closed beta. On paper, it looked like a promising Web3 gaming project. But after launching in June 2025, it suspended Season 2 just two months later because player participation was too low to justify the rewards. That’s a massive gap between hype and reality. And it taught me something about Web3 marketing: You can raise millions, hire KOLs, grow your socials, and get hundreds of thousands of people interested. But none of those numbers guarantee that people will actually play your game, let alone keep coming back. Attention gets people through the door. The product gives them a reason to stay. That's the difference between generating hype and building sustainable growth.

100% agree with you, my noob friend @Aathena_eth 🤝 Web3 gaming is already fighting for attention, players, and trust. Then another gaming chain shuts down and suddenly we’re not talking about games anymore… we’re talking about where all these builders and gamers are going next 💀 @Enjin @Ronin_Network @Immutable These ecosystems still have something that matters: gaming communities. Now we just need builders to keep building and chains to keep supporting them. Please… no more shutdowns. Let us survive the last 2 months of 2026 in peace. 🫡
One gaming chain shuts down, and suddenly the whole crypto market shifts its attention from token2049 to roasting XP farmers 😭 Web3 gaming is in a tough spot right now. A lot of genuinely good games were building on @AbstractChain , and now everyone is wondering: "Where are they going next?" If I had to suggest three options: 1. Want to reach web3 gamer audience? Go to @enjin 2. Want to keep the same gamers and simply pivot chains? Go to @Ronin_Network 3. Want to put your game in front of the Web2 gaming audience and get attention? Go to @Immutable Outside of these three, I honestly don’t see many gaming ecosystems left with the audience, attention, and existing gaming communities to support these games. The choice is yours All we can do is suggest But please... don't shut down😭 Let us have at least a little peace of mind for the last two months of 2026.
