When starting @Vestwell, people told us the existing retirement infrastructure was too entrenched to change. Too many incumbents, too much regulation, too hard to move. Well, ten years later, here we are: 750,000+ businesses, 2.55 million+ savers, and over $56 billion saved across all 50 states. Those who warned us weren't wrong about the challenge. I recently had the opportunity to sit down with @PabloSrugo for an episode of the pmf.show @Vestwell turns 10 this year, so we spent the conversation walking through some of the moments that got us here: the investor two years in who asked if we'd ever make money, VCs passing on us in 2021 because 401(k)s were too "boring", how losing a J.P. Morgan bid as a 40-person startup still ended up becoming one of our biggest partnerships down the line, and more.
