New paper alert!! Here we show in patient blood samples and animal models that Doxorubicin directly rewires CD8 T-cells into “matrix remodeling T-cells” or “mx-Tcells”allowing them to stiffen cardiac collagen directly through a Lox dependent mechanism

Very excited to share our new paper using plasma proteomics to look for potential biomarkers in anthracycline toxicity now out in @CircHF! We find new immune proteins that correlate with decreased LVEF in lymphoma/leukemia patients after anthracycline tx ahajournals.org/doi/10.1161/…
We validated these in a mouse model and also show preliminary evidence that they correlate with survival but not cancer progression in patients with hematologic malignancies.
