I played Aberfoyle today, and I’m not sure I’ve ever experienced a golf course quite as peaceful.
Zero wind. Heavy dew. Birds chirping and birds of prey calling somewhere in the distance.
The course was almost completely silent.
So still that it didn’t quite feel real.
My golf was feeling good, my head was clear, and for the first time in months, I felt completely relaxed on a golf course.
No rushing. No noise. Just golf.
Surreal scenery, brilliant little golf holes and one of those mornings that reminds you why you love the game in the first place.
Aberfoyle is officially Golf Heaven in my books.
If there’s one golf course I could recommend it’s Aberfoyle on a morning like this.
Heavenly is the only word for it.

Great to welcome Brent of the East Tennessee Hickory Players to @AberfoyleGC last night. In 🏴 for a month and playing many courses in ARoSC by our friend @JimHHartsell. Lots of great chat, and some good shots - oh that sound of the contact of the hickory club on the ball.
Today is thank a Greenkeeper day. Our greenkeepers Alan and Dougie do an amazing job maintaining our course to such a high standard. Thank you both for all your hard work.
Congratulations Stephen Hart our 2026 Club Champion. Massive well done also goes to our runner up Bob Carmichael for making it such a great final.
