the content of a thought is the "I just need to …" the shape of a thought is noticing there is a sticky tangled ball of pain running around in your head and body you cannot resolve this through the contents the thought
I literally do not have a better pointer for this than 1. notice a thought 2. look at its shape 3. ?????!!

There is an important reason that the right never wins the culture war overall, despite the left being so poor at tactics that they often end up shooting their own feet. That is the reality that logistics are more important than tactics, and tactics only matter once you have sorted logistics out. The left has sorted logistics out by creating patronage networks, while the right refuses to do so because it's still controlled by a curious kind of boomer paleoliberal who thinks that "free market" means "everything should pay for itself". Thus, both the cultural and political struggles of the right must be waged by broke young men as a side project to their careers, while fighting for the left is a career. The young men fighting for the right are simply expected to purchase their own rifles, ammunition, uniforms and kit, provide their own transport to the front, then organize themselves into units to defeat the communists. If you understand this, then you will understand why the retards manage to win a lot despite being retards. The left is giving people 100K fellowships for writing lesbian novels, while the right is charging its own guys $200 to listen to some theoretical ramblings about the antichrist. No, that's not a metaphor. I wish I had made either of those two facts up as some sort of hyperbole. Only the left understands how to get and use political power. The left understands that power is a form of currency. So if you want it, you have to buy it, with some other form of currency. Such as money. The right thinks that political power is a side effect... something that you naturally accumulate while doing business. Possibly this is because most wealthy right-wing people are investors. They start a project, or put money into it, and they expect to get their money back and then some. That's what they are used to. That's how investment works. But that's not how power works. And if you have wealth, but no power, then the people with power will just take whatever you built. I don't know exactly what the tech right, the business right, the wealthy right, should be spending on political power. But what they are spending is clearly not enough and in the wrong places. Because George Soros sure as hell isn't selling people tickets to listen to him talk.
As a young man in Republican politics I can explain why we don't "just volunteer" Positions are unpaid or underpaid, men are expected to be breadwinners We can't afford to hold these roles consistently Also the GOP actively pushes to have Less Men in Leadership

Hello. You are probably leaning forwards slightly. Without changing anything, I'd like to remind you that there is space above and behind you. What if you let your body expand into that space above and behind? Have a nice day!

Dr. Jung once told me that any man who comes into your consulting room will either be 21 or 45 years of age no matter his chronological age because his problems will be that he can't get into life or can't get out of life. Those are the only 2 problems a man ever has.~RA Johnson

let’s not forget that Youtube figured out how to make internet comments helpful and kind and every other social media platform decided not to follow suit because they believe outrage and division is better for their bottom line nitter.cf/RichDecibels/status/17…

Talked to a surgeon who’d massively decreased his complication rates over the course of 2 decades despite moving towards newer and less-conservative techniques “How’d you do it?” “Some was getting better at surgery mechanically, but the biggest part is you can learn from talking which patients will disobey during recovery, heal badly or never be satisfied. I don’t work with those anymore.” “Heal badly? You can tell who heals better?” “You never know for sure, things can always come up. But after hundreds of surgeries a year you can make mostly good guesses from the questions people ask. Good healers ask questions about recovery, when they can start moving and get back to normal life again. Bad healers ask if surgery will fix all of their unrelated health problems, make them happy and bring back their dead dog from 2015. I can’t bring back dogs, so no point operating on those people”

Is feed swapping a thing? Like you trade feeds with someone and then give each other feedback on how it might reinforce existing patterns? Should there be a party for this?

there are four main kinds of psychological transformation that I've experienced: 1. safety: I feel afraid -> some greater power has my back 2. vitality: I am weakened or overwhelmed -> there is more energy available to me than I thought there was 3. identity: I want to be seen for some characteristic -> noticing the beauty of something with that characteristic 4. grief: it is terrible that something has been lost forever -> I will honor its memory

the number one predictor of success in any field is willingness and ability to make many attempts with little to no reward signal--often outright failures

I think felt safety is still extremely underrated for inner work. When everyone is talking about safety all the time I will consider it accurately rated. The core insight is basically that if you feel unsafe your system clenches up to hell and the only problem it's meaningfully able to work on is "feel safe again." Unsafe cognition is limited and clenched as hell, built for dealing with problems like a tiger trying to eat you which are solved by running from the thing or killing the thing. This type of cognition is useless for solving complicated problems which require exploration. ~most of the techniques used within inner work are aimed at producing enough safety to let things flow. Loving the feeling, loving the resistance, equanimity, IPF, IFS especially with placating guardians, MDMA, taking a walk, being in nature, dance, music, reactivity inquiry, all therapeutic techniques with great value with the main function of producing safety!

In a predictive processing frame music sounds good because it's highly predictable while being unpredictable enough to route attention into it. Body scanning does something similar. If you've never looked too closely at your body because of disembodiment, it feels like one big glob. But under curious attention it clarifies into hundreds of muscles, contours, webs of fascia and tension which are endlessly fascinating to explore. Listen to the song of your flesh.

A high trust society takes a dozen generations to build but can be lost in less than one generation. Everytime a political party or social ideology suggests a change to society, ask yourself only this: Will this action increase trust in this society? If the answer is "no", take the scoundrel who dared suggest it and throw him across the border, headfirst, and with no pleasant manners bid him farewell for ever.
