The 7th Annual Nelson Mandela Human Rights Lecture brought together leading scholars, practitioners, diplomats, and students in Geneva for a timely discussion on the future of international human rights.
Under the theme "Waning Multilateralism and the Threat to International Human Rights Law," the lecture featured an insightful keynote by Dr George Ulrich, Academic Director of the @gchumanrights, followed by thought-provoking responses from Dr Bertrand Ramcharan and Mona Rishmawi. The discussion was moderated by Prof. Manfred Nowak.
Hosted as part of the 18th Nelson Mandela World Human Rights Moot Court Competition, the lecture challenged participants to reflect on the growing pressures facing the international human rights system and the shared responsibility of states, institutions, civil society, and future human rights advocates to defend its core principles.
We extend our sincere appreciation to our partners, the @RSA_UNOG and other International Organisations in Geneva, the United Nations Human Rights Council Secretariat, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, the Geneva Academy of International Humanitarian Law and Human Rights.
