Truly honored to accept the Young Physician of the Year award from the @NebMedAssn. I believe with all of my heart that this is the best state in which to practice medicine & I am incredibly blessed to be an advocate for our profession & the patients of #Nebraska.

Today @RogerMarshallMD introduced S. 1640 the ‘‘Medicare Patient Access and Practice Stabilization Act of 2025’’ which would increase Medicare physician reimbursement by 8.51% starting June 1. The increase reflects a prorated reversal of the 2.83% Medicare cut physician practices have endured since the beginning of 2025 as well as an inflation-based update. @MGMA strongly supports this important legislation and appreciates Sen. Marshall’s strong voice in the Senate on behalf of physician group practices.

Great report, @txtianmiller
“…a fundamental truth: The two sides are not evenly matched…Insurers produce their own guidelines to determine whether to pay claims. When a doctor appeals a denial, insurers make all the initial decisions.”

An unfortunate series of events. A for effort, F for feasibility. I haven't always agreed with @HHS_TechPolicy but their aim has been true. Patients, physicians, and interoperability deserve better.

Prior Authorizations shouldn’t delay care. The NMA is championing LB77 to improve transparency and accountability, ensuring faster decisions for patients and reducing administrative burdens for physicians. #NMAAdvocacy
Insurers get a boost for the Medicare plans they administer— but still have onerous prior auth so patients don’t get the care they need. Oh and insurers continue to post record profits year over year. And physicians, who are actually taking care is patients, take another cut.
1/ 🔥CMS gifts MA with a 4.33% average payment ⬆️.
🔥CMS cuts physician practices 2.8% while the cost to keep practices open rises 3.5%.
❗️Medicare cuts jeopardize patients’ access to care. Other payers “shadow” Medicare payments. Impacts all patients.

Prior authorization has become consistently abused as a way for insurers to delay or deny necessary care for patients, as determined by their physicians. Reigning in this harmful ploy must be a priority for protecting the health of our state.

Prior auth may not seem like it impacts the life of @EmergencyDocs…
🚨BUT 🚨
Prior auth hurdles exacerbate ED crowding!
- limiting bed openings that impede inpatient transfers to other facilities
- patients present to the ED for studies not readily obtained as outpatients
🧵Bipartisan bicameral majorities of Congress (House: 155 D, 86 R; Senate: 27 D, 26 R, 1 I) cosponsor the Improving Seniors’ Timely Access to Care Act to reform Medicare Advantage #PriorAuthorization requirements.
