Things go sideways and his father climbs into an excavator and swings the bucket at the troopers and their cruiser. Most dads I know would maybe yell a little. Maybe call a lawyer. This man reached for heavy equipment. The troopers are trying to do a routine arrest and suddenly there's a steel bucket hanging over their car. Nobody trains for that. That is not a family disagreement anymore, that is a deadly weapon with a seat and a diesel engine. According to the uploader, the son was wanted for allegedly assaulting someone and threatening to kill them a couple of days earlier. So Dad wasn't protecting an innocent kid. He was protecting the problem. And the consequences? Per the uploader, Dad pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated assault on an officer with a deadly weapon. The judge also banned him from running an excavator unless someone approved is supervising, and that someone can't be his son. You can't write that. I got two boys at home and I'd go to war for them. But loving your kids means letting them face what they did, not trying to flatten the cops who came for them. Too light a sentence for swinging an excavator at police, or did the court get it right?
