Great show.

Bonded by metal.

Every October I save an @AdamLGNevill book to read. He writes what I think are some of the most frightening horror fiction out there. (My fave: LAST DAYS or NO ONE GETS OUT ALIVE.)
Excited to start this one.
Monumental. The rock stacks of Ladram Bay. My second exploration in '26 by sea kayak.
Weathered prehistoric idols erected to honour now forgotten gods?
Might I have seen scaly arms stretch from out of the water and up a column? Maybe. The sun was in my eyes.
And I've had a chat about my horrors with Martin at Three Ravens Podcast. That's up and gibbering at their site, and on Spotify.
There's a sumptuous banquet of folklore features and other horrors in their extensive library too.

"Surviving Dystopian and Post Apocalyptic Worlds: Fiction at the End of Civilisation, Part 1".
At @HorrorDNA including my near future horror thriller, Lost Girl.
As time passes, the background and ideas in this novel have become uncannily prescient.

First published: 2004 (PS), then 2008 (Virgin) & 2014 (Pan).

"Old friends" reappear in places you least expect, or could only dream of.
A TV series is in the works at Apple inspired by my 2012 novel, Last Days.
If you're curious about what dropped from the ceiling and onto my head last week, this was announced:

If you needed proof that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, Jane and her granddaughter, Bethan Bayley, collaborated on this 'House of Small Shadows' film.
Bethan filmed and edited the footage when the troop were frolicking in the ruins of Baron Hill Mansion, in Anglesey.
The details of the ape in the puppet show, featured in my 2013 book, 'House of Small Shadows' are scant, yet sufficient for Jane Barnett to have created this monster.
Since its arrival, I often hear it scampering downstairs when I'm trying to sleep.

Current fiction read. Enjoyed two films adapted from @AdamLGNevill, "The Ritual" and "No One Gets Out Alive." One of the rising voices in "folk horror," a genre I'm interested in. First venture into his original material.
Like apparitions, four of my novels have appeared in audio. Read by narrators forever now haunted after giving these stories strange, new audible lives.
House of Small Shadows, Under a Watchful Eye and Banquet for the Damned are in audio for the first time too.
Best show on the telly right now for me.
After a being away from home for a bit, I caught up Friday night.
Quality casting, acting, writing. Eerie but funny, including some sublime slapstick moments.

The "red abides" in Deutschland. The Reddening has been published in German. Illustrated superbly by Samuel Araya.
The cult of the red folk expands & I anticipate reports of crimson faces appearing at windows.

I have written a new folk horror story. And this grim tale will be included in Dead Ink Press's new multi-author collection: BEASTS OF ENGLAND. Handsome, illustrated editions are available for pre-order:

Giving 'The Acorn Bride' a different hue.Folk-baroque with a dark twist.
Found that paperback books tame the bass beautifully.
Horror novels seem particularly hungry for resonance 😜 @AdamLGNevill , top left of pic, sandwiched between Orwell and Moorcock, thanks for that. 🤘🤘

Monumental by @AdamLGNevill
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Adam has done it once again with this creepy spine tingler. The sense of menace never lets up. Loved the references to The Reddening.
Superb narration by Greg Patmore.
