Since posting this the first time, Bahoya made his 3rd appearance for Leeds. He played 6 minutes a left wing back, and many fans decided that meant the forward wasn’t very good. I think I’ve seen this one before #LUFC lsxi.substack.com/p/jean-mat…

The view expressed that we need to invest in better attackers is an interesting one when you look at what we actually have in that area. You could plug any attacker you want in this system really, the fact is that we aren’t coached in a way conducive to getting bodies forward

Seen far too many people ask for longstaff to start as if it will solve the fundamental problems with how we’re playing. This is him doing the bit you think he’s good at, what makes you think he’s going to turn the xG problem around in any way?

In a word… no.

I’d argue that it’s negative to be happy with what’s been served up. We’ve played 4 of the bottom 5, one of which is the world’s worst run football club. It is aspirational and realistic to expect more in those games from the group of players we have, no?

Our bench had a winger we bought from ac Milan who he’s happy to start every week. We have the fastest player ever recorded in Germany. We started Fulham’s POTY from last year. We are choosing to play 5 defenders and also Brenden Aaronson. We can get better results than this

Are we ready for the bahoya chat now? Teams basically fine, can of course argue that we’re missing some ballast in midfield, but then we get to the LHS and… why? What’s Brenden going to bring to this that any other player won’t? Why won’t we use our most exciting signing?

Of all Daniel farke’s gifts his biggest might be managing expectations. We’ve done so well just by having good players and being hard to beat. Man U last weekend would have been beaten with a bit more bravery - we’ve got a strong setup, for sure, but could we gamble a bit more?

How long before we go back to a 433? I can’t say there’s loads of games I’ve felt in need of the extra centre back this season
