The Predators have made impressive gains over the past five games at 5-on-5. Their process offensively is much improved, as is their transition defense.
Notable players Chris MacFarland has traded for/out since becoming Predators GM:
IN: Ross Colton, Jack Drury, Adam Edstrom, Nils Hoglander, Mavrik Bourque, Jayden Struble, Shane Wright
OUT: Fedor Svechkov, Zachary L’Heureux, Luke Evangelista, Matthew Wood
Wright, 22, was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2022 draft (and at one point was expected to be the No. 1 pick in that draft). Here’s what @reporterchris wrote about him last week:
The Kraken are sending Shane Wright to the Predators for Matthew Wood in a one-for-one trade, per @FriedgeHNIC 🔄

Last month, Chris MacFarland told @Gentry_Estes: “(H)ow we come out of the gates, how the scoreboard is going to read in the month of October is going to be very, very important to the direction of this season and future seasons.”
Here’s where the Predators stand after 10 games
Connor McDavid's ridiculous start to the season is likely the No. 1 reason the Oilers have won eight of 10.
But a more subtle system change has also powered the team's early success, writes @AdamVingan. sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/how…
I am not low class. I may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, low class. But I am *NOT* a porn star!
Steven Stamkos is the first player in NHL history with two game-tying goals in the final second of regulation.
