I recently discovered that period products can sometimes set off the TSA’s body scanner machines, but there’s no info about it anywhere. A TSA rep I spoke with said pads and pantyliners are likely to flag as anomalies in the machine, prompting uncomfortable searches... 🧵
I really appreciate the bubble I live in that doesn't include the guy referenced here, but it's good to remember why we have so much more work to do. More loud complaining about our periods, it's called advocacy 🩸

I made noise about this a couple of years ago, and I wasn't the first (or, apparently, the last). As we reflect on post 9/11 changes, is this particular practice really making air travel safer? - dailydot.com/irl/tsa-body-se… via @GoogleNews

Looks like a classic case of a gymnastics rival. Will iron sharpen iron? Or will these two be each other's lifelong nemesis? Time will tell!

Trans men and non-binary people also have miscarriages.
Except when we do, many of us can’t access the care we need without discrimination, fight with our insurance companies to get that care covered, and have to deal with providers who do not understand our literal bodies.
"Things would be different if men had miscarriages because men would not be silent about them in the way women have been. Without the weight of shame and stigma, men would speak up and demand adjustments to societal structures to accommodate their losses." bit.ly/2P0yDti

This is not okay. Periods don't abide by curfews, you don't always know when they are coming, and everyone deserves to be able to access period products without getting arrested. This is NOT OKAY.
