How was your day? Here’s what I did in my business today: • Subscribed to @AddEvent_Inc to use it as a simple way for people to add my Skill Sessions and group coaching calls to their calendars. Will first take it for a spin with my upcoming free Client Generator session I’m doing on Oct. 16. If you want an invite to that, join my newsletter - invite is going out this week. • Sent a custom 5 Step Plan my client @jslackey who has a great business helping expertise-based businesses become more profitable and efficient. I’m helping her clarify her messaging and product offers. • Added a poll to my welcome email for new subscribers to my newsletter. I’m using @ConvertKit’s embedded poll functionality and tags. Now my welcome email asks new subscribers what their main content platform is for their business. When they answer, they get an automated email based on their answer with a link to a resource related to that platform. And those resources are video excerpts from my podcast where I share a strategy for that platform. So I’m learning about them, giving them relevant value, improving deliverability of future emails, segmenting my subscribers for future use, and introducing them to my podcast/Youtube channel. Not bad, right? • Wrote/scheduled all the daily issues of my newsletter for this week. Spoiler alert: Tomorrow’s issue gives you a way to figure out if your newsletter is actually ā€œworkingā€ or not. • • • So, how was your day?

If I were to launch a new online community in 2024, there are certain tools I would implement in the first week. Here are my choices for CRM, calendar, video hosting, chatbot, support desk, and mobile app. 1. CRM: Active Campaign Understanding and managing your members effectively is crucial for any online community. @ActiveCampaign stands out in this area due to its powerful CRM capabilities and advanced email marketing tools. It enables you to segment your audience, monitor interactions, and tailor communication. It also integrates with almost everything so you won’t be bottle necked in the future. Learn more: activecampaign.com 2. Community Calendar: AddEvent Keeping your community informed about upcoming events is essential. @AddEvent_Inc makes it easy to manage your community calendar and ensures that your members never miss out on webinars, meetups, and other important gatherings. Its seamless integration with popular calendar services enhances user experience by allowing members to save events directly to their personal calendars. Learn more: addevent.com 3. Video Hosting: Livepeer We’ve helped so many customers migrate away from Vimeo, YouTube, and Kajabi as their video host. If launching a new community I’d want 100% ownership of my hosting platform from day 1. @Livepeer provides a decentralized video hosting solution that's not only cost-effective but also highly scalable. Whether you're streaming live workshops or hosting on-demand content, Livepeer ensures high-quality video delivery. Learn more: livepeer.studio 4. Chatbot: Chatbase Automating answers to popular questions can massively upgrade the community experience. With @chatbase, you can implement a smart AI chatbot that can use all your videos, courses, and documents to answer your member’s questions. Your CustomGPT can instantly answer common questions and guide members to best resources within your community. Learn more: chatbase.co 5. Support Desk: Help Scout Even with the best proactive measures, members will have questions or encounter issues. @helpscout offers a streamlined support desk solution that helps manage and respond to member inquiries efficiently. This is a perfect sized tool for smaller support teams with 1-10 members. Its user-friendly interface and powerful features ensure that every member question is handled as quickly as possible. Learn more: helpscout.com 6. Custom Mobile App: FlutterFlow Finally, to truly differentiate your community and provide a bespoke experience, consider developing a custom mobile app with @flutterflow. This tool allows for rapid development of highly customized apps that can include features like push notifications, member forums, and personalized content feeds. A custom app not only enhances engagement but also solidifies your brand’s presence in the digital space. Learn more: flutterflow.io Building an online community in 2024 requires a thoughtful approach to technology. By choosing the right tools for each aspect of community management, you can create a vibrant, engaged, and smoothly running community. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to upgrade your existing platform, this tech stack provides a solid foundation for success.
