The 2026 Mayor's Community Charity Ball Silent Auction is NOW LIVE! You do NOT need to attend the Mayor's Ball to participate in the silent auction. Happy Halloween! Trick or Treat hours in the Village of Addison are from 3 - 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 31. Please stay safe this Halloween by following these simple safety tips: • Instruct children to use sidewalks, whenever possible. Cross only at corners. Look both ways before crossing the street. Obey traffic lights. Walk, don’t run, across the street. • Watch for cars that are turning or backing up. Teach children to never dart out into the street or cross between parked cars. • Put cell phones down and keep your head up. • No candy should be eaten until it has been inspected by an adult to check for any signs of tampering. Discard any unwrapped items. • Carry glow sticks or flashlights while trick or treating. • Trick or treat in groups, whenever possible, accompanied by one or more adults. • Instruct your children to never enter any home or approach an occupied vehicle. As always, report any suspicious person or activity to the Addison Police by dialing 9-1-1. Be safe, Addison! Be safe and have a fun and spooky Halloween!

CHANGE TO GARBAGE DAY: Republic Services is making a change to some residents garbage day. The affected area is highlighted in the map below. Beginning the week of November 2, instead of having garbage day on Fridays, this area will have their garbage picked up on Mondays instead. The first day of the new service schedule is Monday, November 2nd. Republic made this change to improve route continuity, operational efficiency, and service consistency for the affected area. At Monday night's Village Board meeting, the Knights of Columbus presented a check of $3,000 for the Addison Police Department's annual Shop with a Hero event. Shop with a Hero is an annual collaborative event where local children are paired with heroes from the Addison Police and Fire Department to shop for winter clothes, clothing, and toys. Thank you Knights of Columbus for the generous donation that makes events like these possible!
