Let’s think out of the box here. We don’t need to rerun the flawed 2016 Referendum; we can realign as we are doing now and rejoin under a settled general-election mandate. We are no longer in the 19thc where the surviving Brexiters still live.
Polling has already moved past the binary of a decade ago. Majorities now favour rejoining (YouGov 59–32, Messina Group 49–28.5); the experiment’s costs are priced in and the residual opposition is a minority. The country has, in effect, already voted with its subsequent preferences.
The EU has indicated it would welcome the application. Macron and Sánchez have said so publicly; the Commission remains open to structured engagement. The institutional door is not closed.
Andy Burnham can therefore place realignment and re-accession at the centre of the next manifesto. A clear electoral victory on that programme supplies the democratic affirmation required, converting an already obvious public preference into a durable mandate without reopening the wounds and opportunity for lies and misinformation of 2016. The choice is between another ritual referendum and a straightforward act of representative democracy. The latter is available.

Good morning. Its one of those double days. #thighthursday and guy fawkes night. For those of you who don't know, guy fawkes tried to blow up the British houses of Parliament a few hundred years ago. So you might see some thighs and some fireworks later. Keep watching.😉

Robbie Gibb & the BBC brexit
While the BBC’s top executives are bound by strict codes of institutional neutrality, the role of Sir Robbie Gibb has long triggered intense debate about political interference, cultural bias, and the independence of the UK's national broadcaster.
Unlike standard BBC governors, Sir Robbie Gibb’s career has actively bridged partisan politics and media leadership. A prominent and vocal supporter of Brexit, Gibb was the BBC’s Head of Westminster and edited live political programming during the 2016 EU Referendum. Shortly after the historic vote, he exited the corporation to serve as Theresa May’s Director of Communications at 10 Downing Street from 2017 to 2019, positioning himself at the very heart of the government's strategy to deliver Brexit.
Gibb returned to the broadcaster in May 2021 when Boris Johnson’s government appointed him as the non-executive Director for England on the BBC Board, where he also joined the Editorial Guidelines and Standards Committee. Media analysts and former colleagues allege that Gibb leveraged his senior oversight role to shield the Brexit process from heavy journalistic critique. Notable controversies included reports from senior news editors alleging that Gibb instructed staff to move on from interrogating the Leave campaign's claim that Brexit would free up £350 million a week for the NHS, arguing that further scrutiny would look like an attempt by the BBC to discredit the democratic result.
Critics have frequently accused Gibb of acting as a political operative within Broadcasting House, working to actively steer the broadcaster's culture away from what Eurosceptics viewed as an institutional pro-Remain bias.
The controversy surrounding Gibb culminated in intense public and government scrutiny following a major leadership crisis in late 2025. This crisis was triggered by the sudden resignations of Director-General Tim Davie and Head of News Deborah Turness.
Gibb faced accusations from staff and media critics of pushing internal claims of institutional bias that precipitated the sudden executive departures. The backlash led to significant political and institutional actions:
In November 2025, Liberal Democrats leader Ed Davey sponsored a motion in Parliament, ultimately signed by over 40 Members of Parliament, expressing concern over Gibb's conduct on the BBC Board. The motion cited alleged meddling in senior recruitment and editorial discussions that harmed perceptions of partiality, and directly called on the government to remove him from the Board.
Bectu, one of the primary unions representing BBC staff, wrote an open letter to the Culture Secretary demanding Gibb's immediate removal, calling his presence a distraction that compromised the broadcaster's charter-mandated independence ahead of upcoming funding reviews.
Later that month, Gibb was summoned to appear before the parliamentary Culture, Media and Sport Committee to answer allegations of an orchestrated boardroom coup.
The ongoing presence of political appointees on the governing board continues to draw scrutiny. A subsequent BBC Royal Charter Review report published by Parliament in October 2026 explicitly recommended an end to political appointments to the BBC Board, noting that the public requires a broadcaster that is independent from the government in both fact and perception. While Gibb remains on the board with a term extending to 2028, his role continues to stand as a lightning rod for the ongoing debate over the BBC's political neutrality.

In a Matrix-style simulation, the physical “laws” would simply be the programmed rules of the simulation. They wouldn’t be fundamental or necessary in any deeper sense, just whatever rules the system runs so that the observed behavior is consistent.
Dark matter (or modified gravity, or any other fix) would then be part of those rules: either an actual simulated particle/field, or a numerical shortcut the code uses to produce the same gravitational effects we measure. Either way, it would still have to match the data we see (rotation curves, CMB, lensing, structure formation, etc.). The evidence wouldn’t vanish just because the underlying layer is code rather than base reality.
The simulation has to be believable.

Dziękuję Wam wszystkim, którzy dziś wyszli na ulice polskich miast w obronie niezależnego Trybunału Konstytucyjnego. Dziękuję @Kom_Obr_Dem i @KubaKarys!
Od ponad 10 lat nie odpuszczacie. To wymaga mądrości i wytrwałości. 🤍❤️
Trybunał zaczyna znów służyć Wam, obywatelom. Nie politykom. Po każdej nocy, nastaje dzień.

The Book of Revelation missed the fifth and truly most apocalyptic of the horsemen. He is the destroyer, devoid of empathy, the embodiment of greed. The other four ride because the world is broken. Greed rides so that the world stays broken, balances tipped forever in his favour.

Russia runs industrial-scale troll and bot operations (historical IRA plus networks like Social Design Agency, Doppelganger and Matryoshka). Leaked docs show high-volume output; millions of comments, tens of thousands of posts, memes and AI-assisted content, all amplifying anti-EU, anti-NATO, anti-“globalist” and anti-establishment narratives, including support for far-right or populist-aligned parties when it advances division and weaker Western cohesion.
And you know exactly the parties I mean.
THE THREE BOOKS ON THE TABLE IN THE IMAGE ARE ALL WORTH READING. THEY EXIST AND THEY POINT THE FINGER.
Our own politics and platforms are targets for Russian state media (RT, Sputnik) plus troll/bot activity around the 2016 Brexit referendum are documented. MI5 director Ken McCallum confirmed in October 2026 that interference was attempted via those channels. Similar attempts have occurred around later UK elections; we are uncertain if this interference has been decisive..
Russian influence activity is real and ongoing. Their assets are staring us right in the face.
