Praying for all of us that are broken or have experienced brokenness - all that have experienced life have experienced, in some small or large way, brokenness. #Grateful for all of the broken parts and those that help me put them back together - stronger and more resilient 🙏🏽

What an unforgettable surprise for these young men—a visit from President Obama at the OPC. For more than a decade, @MBK_Alliance has worked to ensure boys and young men know they are seen, valued & supported. The excitement on their faces here shows why that mission matters.
Last week, President Obama met with young leaders from the @MBK_Alliance the Obama Presidential Center. They shared more about the work they’re doing at school, their goals for the future, and even gave me an update on their class elections. Take a look!

Chicago, you did it! Congratulations to MBK Chicago on achieving MBK Certification. This moment recognizes the work of hundreds of organizations, community leaders, and partners who showed up every single day for boys and young men of color on the South Side, West Side, and across the city. Stay tuned.

This birthday, we honor Mahalia Jackson, the gospel legend whose legacy lives on at the Obama Presidential Center, from the Museum’s “Take My Hand, Precious Lord” soundscape to the café named in her honor with support from the Judy and Peter Blum Kovler Foundation.

Lonnie Bunch has called the Smithsonian a “national classroom” where all Americans can better understand our shared history. As he prepares to step down, I’m ever grateful for his insistence on telling the full American story. A remarkable legacy. ICYMI: smithsonianmag.com/blogs/air…

When I was 17, my high school, St. Augustine, played in Baton Rouge. Dale Brown was there to recruit our star forward, Donald Royal. I asked him for an interview for our school paper. He was very gracious and answered all of my questions. It was the first big interview I ever had published. I will always remember Coach Brown’s kindness to a kid reporter. RIP 🙏🏾
The LSU Basketball family is saddened to announce the passing of legendary coach Dale Brown at the age of 90.
