Today in Jeddah, H.E. Dr. Muhammad Al Jasser, Chairman of the #IsDB Group, met with H.E. Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, @AfDBPresident, at IsDB Group Headquarters to advance development cooperation across their 27 common African member countries. Discussions focused on: đŸ”č Scaling up co-financing: Building on the 2024–2029 Cooperation Framework, with joint approvals reaching US$2.65 billion, or 66.3% of the US$4 billion target. đŸ”č Accelerating project delivery: Leveraging the complementary strengths and expertise of both institutions to maximize development impact. đŸ”č Mobilizing resources: Expanding trade and private-sector finance, guarantees, Islamic finance and capital mobilization, including through relevant IsDB Group entities. đŸ”č Strengthening concessional financing: Exploring closer collaboration between the IsDB Concessional Fund (ICF) and the African Development Fund (ADF), including co-financing eligible operations and sharing expertise. Both leaders welcomed progress under the partnership and explored broadening the Cooperation Framework, raising co-financing ambitions and pursuing joint operations beyond its current scope. I had a fruitful working session on Friday in Abidjan with a Guinean ministerial delegation led by Ms Mariama CirĂ© Sylla, Minister of Economy, Finance and Budget and Governor of the African Development Bank Group for Guinea. We share the same ambition: to mobilise more resources to accelerate Guinea’s economic transformation and support its major development projects, notably the Simandou 2040 Programme. This ambition is fully aligned with the New African Financial Architecture for Development (#NAFAD) and the Four Cardinal Points, which place the mobilisation of African capital, financial sovereignty, our demographic potential and resilient infrastructure at the heart of our action. --- J’ai eu une sĂ©ance de travail fructueuse ce vendredi Ă  Abidjan avec une dĂ©lĂ©gation ministĂ©rielle guinĂ©enne conduite par Mme Mariama CirĂ© Sylla, ministre de l’Économie, des Finances et du Budget et gouverneure du Groupe de la Banque pour la GuinĂ©e. Nos Ă©changes ont portĂ© sur le renforcement de notre coopĂ©ration et sur les prioritĂ©s de dĂ©veloppement de la RĂ©publique centrafricaine, dans le cadre des Quatre Points cardinaux et de la Nouvelle architecture financiĂšre africaine pour le dĂ©veloppement (NAFAD), qui placent la mobilisation des ressources africaines au cƓur de notre action. --- I had the pleasure of meeting Marc Mandaba, Minister of Economy, Planning and International Cooperation of the Central African Republic and Governor of the African Development Bank for his country, on Friday in Abidjan. Le prĂ©sident du Groupe de la Banque africaine de dĂ©veloppement, Dr Sidi Ould Tah, et le ministre de l’Économie et des Finances du #Niger, Maman Laouali Abdou Rafa, gouverneur de la Banque pour le Niger, ont signĂ© mardi Ă  Brazzaville, en RĂ©publique du Congo, un accord visant Ă  mettre en Ɠuvre un programme d’entrepreneuriat agricole destinĂ© aux jeunes. IntitulĂ© « Programme intĂ©grĂ© de dĂ©veloppement de l’agri-entrepreneuriat des jeunes et d’innovation technologique et financiĂšre », ce projet est financĂ© Ă  hauteur de 172 millions de dollars par le Groupe de la Banque, partenaire stratĂ©gique du Niger. L’institution met actuellement en Ɠuvre 21 projets et programmes dans ce pays, pour un financement cumulĂ© de plus d’un milliard de dollars.

#AfDBAM2026: Before an audience of three African heads of state, heads of government, ministers, private sector leaders, and representatives of financial and development institutions, as well as Governors of the @AfDB_Group, Dr Ould Tah underscored the need to reform Africa’s financial architecture in order to mobilise greater domestic resources for the continent’s transformation and strengthen partnerships.
