A different year of music every week. This week: 1999
Today’s song from 1999 stuck in my head
Blur- Tender

This Costello double album compilation (£2) is one of my best ever charity shop finds. Couldn't believe it when I saw it. Keep searching!

Wonderful soul-searching songs on this 1995 album @MickPuck I notice Atlantic Rain gets a mention in the autobiographical Long Way to the Light
Thanks to my bro Pat Ffrench @treeshrewmusic for giving me this CD copy of a Suede album which divides fans. Personally I love it and it's taken up residence in my Zafira's CD player. Lonely Girls is a whimsical listicle but it sounds to me exactly like Suede should sound!

My latest £1 pickup from the charity shop racks sounding good tonight. Bob Dylan writes the liner notes poem for this 1963 release (my copy looks like the 1965 reissue, and is in good nick for six decades old). Folk history!
This £1 pickup is a beauty! Travis has a similar vocal style as my country music favourite Charley Pride, who was introduced to me by Uncle Max in the 1970s. Great to see him last week at a family celebration in Hereford
Some affable conversations about 45s and albums taking place right now on the bluesky. Feel free to join in with the #weekendsingles chit chat!

Don't know if CD Friday is a thing here on twitter but I'm spinning Stay Free first for my bro @treeshrewmusic have a good weekend everyone!

Took a chance and paid a pound for this 1982 comp on the strength of the sleeve. It's country music but it's sounding good to me. Glad to be introduced to Ed Bruce

Released in May, 1986, Boat to Bolivia is now almost four decades old. It still sounds fresh as a daisy. Little Red Bottle and Running Water cut some rug!

Van Morrison's Veedon Fleece from '74. Not sure why I left it so long. A smashing late night listen and I'm wondering where fellow fans @stavrossky38 @unclewald @Gjh2541 and @5Tunesaday rank it? You Don't Pull No Punches.. is perhaps a tad too long at 8:51

Why did The Soul Cages pass me by in 1991 @stavrossky38 @Gjh2541 I'm impressed after picking this up in a Sue Ryder for a fiver. All This Time is a great song and there's more

This Mark Knopfler album from 2015 has been a constant companion of late. I love the story songs, with Lights of Taormina perhaps just shading the opener Laughs and Jokes and Drinks and Smokes

Not sure this LP from '65 would go down too well with my pals on bluesky so I'll just post it here @stavrossky38 @unclewald @Gjh2541 feel free to tell me I'm losing my mind..😂

Listened to this album so many times over the years that I know every line. I'm still unravelling all the implications. Just noticed for the first time that Chris Difford wrote Boy With A Problem. Have a great weekend!
About a year ago I met this guy at a Stornoway gig and we got chatting about Lloyd Cole. A week later he delivered this CD boxset of rarities to my doorstep and I've been playing it ever since. Fool You Are definitely deserved more attention
