#MargaretAgnesRope was not just a glass artist; she enjoyed painting too. Her miniature version of the story of Saint #ThomasMore is a little jewel margaret-agnes-rope.co.uk/20…

▪Thomas More – a picture story

It’s difficult to think of a period of English history that obsesses people more than that of the Tudors; and the two giants of that time are, arguably, King Henry VIII and his advisor Thomas More.…

‘Orchestral-pop’ features nun-saints: a top album of 2025, by #Rosalia, has tracks about five nun-saints, including #TeresaOfAvila, a #Carmelite like #MargaretRope. Life is ever surprising...! @GBCarmelites @MeredithCatrin en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lux_(R…

A new book about the stained glass of England’s cathedrals is out soon. Wouldn't it be great if #MargaretAgnesRope's work at @ShrewsCathedral were to be featured? englishcathedrals.co.uk/late…

Sadly, this book only features CofE cathedrals, and does not include any Catholic ones. Marga's cathedral work was only to be found in Shrewsbury RC Cathedral

A window in #Shrewsbury wrongly thought to be by Marga turns out to be by another very fine, but virtually unknown, female artist - thanks to a lot of research! #StoriesInChurches @DiscoverChurch6 @BSMGP @Feministory @MyShrews margaret-agnes-rope.co.uk/20…

Marvellous portraiture and brilliantly dense composition in these Marga #stainedglasswindows. @RMStainedGlass @BSMGP

Blaxhall, Suffolk was the home parish of the Rope family, remembered in the 1913 east window by one of their number, Margaret Agnes Rope. Some details, here is St Stephen with a shepherd and his flock, and St Luke with more Blaxhall locals. 1/3

Great to see Margaret Rope's #Shrewsbury #stainedglasswindows featured on BBC's Great British Railway Journeys programme. Our man Arthur Rope explained their beauty to Portillo. @GBRJ_Official @ShrewsburyTC @OriginalShrews bbc.co.uk/programmes/m002b9q…

Margaret had a 'medievalist' side. In this In Memoriam piece (St Laurence window, Shrewsbury) she depicts the late-lamented as a tiny figure kneeling at the saint's feet - a very medievalist touch... @jimchesh @SocChurchArch

A fascinating travel diary by Marga's brother Fr Harry Rope has been re-found @ShropArchives. It is pre-#JRTolkien, very anti-industrialism, and strange... See link. @CatholicRS @naomiwalker101 @MauriceWhitehe6 @CCSDham @SY1litfest margaret-agnes-rope.co.uk/20…

One of Marga's finest #stainedglasswindows is rotting away in a derelict chapel in #UpHolland, Lancs. An article in the #ECHA newsletter explains why it should be saved @EnglishCatholi2 @AnneAnd58022760 @SPAB1877 @todbooklady See link: echa.org.uk/.../2025/01/ne

A very Michaelangelo-esque depiction by Margaret, dated 1918, ie quite early in her career. @ahistoryinart @RMStainedGlass

A new year - and still there is war. Margaret knew war - three of her siblings were on frontlines in WW1. She herself was busy with #stainedglasswindows memorials, including this one to Private Cox @ShrewsCathedral. @Davidicons @Rach_Arnold
