🚨NOW OUTSIDE COLUMBIA! It’s has never been more clear: the people are with Palestine and will not stand for the brutality of the NYPD or Columbia University’s attempts to stop the protest of a genocide!

🇵🇸ALL OUT TO COLUMBIA NOW! OPEN THE GATES AND BREAK THE SIEGE! COLUMBIA, STOP STARVING YOUR STUDENTS!
⏰NOW
📍116 & Broadway
For months, students at Columbia have been exhausting every means of protest against the institution’s investment in war and blood-drenched profit. Yesterday the administration continued to hand out suspension notices to all students exercising their right to protest and calling for an end to genocide.
The Columbia administration’s lockdown tactics have now expanded even to its own staff and student body — the vast majority of whom are now barred from entering their own campus!
Columbia students and faculty must take action now to demand it be reopened: You work here, you study here, you send your tuition money here, and you have every right to be here. The administration is so determined to break up the Gaza Solidarity Encampment, and so determined to keep their ties to the genocidal state of Israel, that they’re practically laying siege to their own campus. Even for those still on campus, common areas are now closed; off campus students can’t access the cafeteria. This cannot stand. April 18 was a day of shame for Columbia, when the NYPD were invited on campus to carry out mass arrests – don’t let it be repeated!

Columbia has always had an incredible history of students fighting for a more just world and it’s good to see that tradition continue. As NYPD surrounds young activists, I hope their concerns are heard by school administrators and they not be criminalized. In solidarity ✊🏽
The right to protest and freedom of expression are cornerstones of democracy. In the 80s students protested apartheid. Today, I was compelled to stand with others in solidarity with Palestine and our right to academic freedom as we peacefully walked around the campus precinct

columbia’s students against apartheid were right in 1985 and the students against the genocide in gaza are right today. the university responded the same way both times: mass arrests
