If you are in Prop Trading, you saw the cookie story, and now this update. I read it 3 times, and honestly it made it worse. So let's go point by point, because traders deserve the truth, not a PR statement.
You say many claims came before the full facts. But the video that started all this is public. Fresh private window, Decline pressed on your cookie banner, then one click on a firm's name to open your own review page. Your page opened in a new tab, and the original tab quietly went to the firm through your affiliate link. No visit click, no buy click. Just a trader trying to read a review.
And an analysis of archived copies of your own site shows it running from at least November 2025. Almost a year. Not a bug that slipped in last week.
You say it needed a user click. A click to read your review page is not a yes to get sent through your affiliate link. If that counts as consent, then nothing means anything.
You say it only opened the firm the trader selected. The trader selected your review page, not the firm's site. That is the whole point, and you know it.
Now think about that Decline button. In Europe and the UK, affiliate tracking cookies need the user's yes, that is the whole reason that button exists. The user said no. And still got sent through an affiliate link. So what was that button even for?
You say no hidden iframes. Nobody needed one. A tab quietly swapped behind a new one, so you never see it happen, is hidden enough.
You say it was only on your own website. That is exactly the problem. It was on the site traders trust to compare firms honestly.
You say prices didn't change. That was never the question. The question is who got the credit, and who got paid.
You say the last click or code usually gets the credit. But another trader says their recording shows no other link at all, that trader later went to the firm through Google and your MATCH was already sitting at checkout. So you would get credit for a sale you never even sent.
You say low single-digit percentage. Percentage of what one of the biggest sites in this space earned, for almost a year. That is real money. And that money was meant for someone else. The small creator who makes honest videos at night after his job, who will never even know his credit went somewhere else.
So let me ask the simple questions.
If this was innocent, why did it stop the same day the video went out, and not one day before?
If it was a small thing, why did one firm CEO say they caught it back in August, and why did around 20 firms walk away within days?
If affiliates are not allowed to force cookies under your own partner rules, why was your own site allowed to?
Years back, in the eBay case, people went to prison over cookie stuffing. I am not saying this is the same. But there is a reason this industry treats it this seriously, and a "low single-digit percentage" doesn't make it small.
Another firm founder said they were paying $10k a month just to be listed with you. Firms paid you to be seen, traders trusted you to be fair, and creators trusted the system to give them their credit. All three got let down.
Yes, it is switched off now. But switching it off after getting caught is not an apology. Share the full numbers, per firm and per creator, and pay back every cent. That is the only update that matters.
And traders, this one is off now, but don't blindly trust any site, us included. Every now and then click around the sites you use and watch your tabs. If a tab opens that you never asked for, now you know.
Update from Prop Firm Match | 2 November 2026
Over the past few days, many claims have been shared about Prop Firm Match, many of them before the full facts were available. Rather than respond to each one, we want to set the record straight with the facts our review has established so far.
This first update covers the referral redirect we disabled on 29 October.
What happened
When traders clicked on firm names or “Copy Code” in certain sections of our website, the interaction also opened the relevant firm's affiliate link. We disabled this functionality on 29 October.
What we have established so far
Based on our technical review to date:
• It did not operate without a user-initiated click.
• It opened only the affiliate link of the firm selected by the trader.
• It did not involve hidden iframes or invisible pixels.
• It operated within PFM's own website code and was not deployed on partner websites or through PFM badges or widgets on third-party sites.
• It did not change the prices traders paid or discounts they received.
• If a trader later clicked another affiliate’s link or used that affiliate’s code, under most of the attribution models reviewed, the sale would be credited to the last click or code used.
The potential impact
Our early, modelled estimate indicates that the potential impact on referral attribution represents a low single-digit percentage of the commissions Prop Firm Match earned, varying from partner to partner.
These are preliminary findings, not final figures. For each firm that takes part, we will review the findings individually to assess any potential impact specific to that firm.
What we're doing
We are inviting every firm we have worked with, both current and former partners, to review our findings against their own records.
Prop Firm Match continues to operate as normal. We encourage everyone to rely on verified information as our review continues.

Like many of you, I had funds stuck on @binance this past week. No one likes that feeling.
But Binance did what a serious company should do. They shared updates every single day, covered every user from their own reserves & reopened withdrawals on the exact day they promised.
My funds are back in full. Thank you @_RichardTeng @heyibinance and the whole team. This is what long term vision looks like.

Weird week for this space honestly.
One side binance got hacked and froze withdrawals and real traders are just sitting there watching money they saved for months/years, stuck, not knowing if its coming back. thats genuinely painful to see.
Other side, one of the biggest prop review sites just had major firms cut ties with it one by one and honestly for some other review site out there, this is probably the best week they’ve ever had.
Same week. tough for some, a fresh start for others. Thats just how trust moves.
Guys imagine…
You spend months building trust, you make the videos, you reply to every dm, you actually convince someone to try a firm. They use your link because they wanna support you. Then before buying they go check prop firm match… one click and quietly, in a new tab, your link just got replaced with prop firm match affiliate link. Firm pays prop firm match, you get 0…
you did the work, someone else got the money and you never even knew it was happening.
Now imagine this running for almost a year across millions of visits. How many creators opened their dashboard, saw 0 and thought maybe im just not good enough maybe i should quit.
They didnt fail. their commission was getting taken the whole time silently bro. Thats not a small oops, thats a year of other peoples money. a sorry post doesnt send that back.
Three years ago, Prop Firm Match launched. Two traders saw a gap in the market for a platform providing simplicity and transparency for prop firm traders. We developed new features not seen before: verified reviews, payout tracking across all payment methods, live spreads, rule overviews, simple ways to compare prop firms, and prop firm expos.
Three years in, PFM has had over 25M website visits, reached over 370,000 members, and has given out free challenge accounts worth over $1,400,000 to the PFM community. Over 100 firms apply to be listed each year and go through one of the industry’s most rigorous compliance processes.
We also got something wrong. Until yesterday, when someone clicked on a firm or a code on our site, a new tab would open the firm’s site through our affiliate link. This should not have happened. We take full responsibility for it. We have reached out to each of our partners to review this together and reconcile any inaccuracies. We respect any decisions firms have made based on this.
We truly appreciate the partners and traders who value the relationship we have built together over the years. We promise you that we will learn from this, hold ourselves to the highest standard, and come back stronger and better.

Since this post, a lot of traders have been testing the sites they use. Good.
On Prop Firm Bridge, copy a code and it just copies. A firm's site opens only when you click Visit.
Today we went one step further. You can now say no to our ad cookies too. One tap, and they never load.
Your click, your choice.

A prop firm just cut ties with a review site over this. Think about that for a second.
Review sites are supposed to work for traders, not take credit for clicks you never made.
On Prop Firm Bridge, copy a code and it just copies. A firm's site opens only when you click Visit.
If a site needs tricks to get paid, why would you trust its rankings?
Do this right now on whatever site you use to pick a prop firm.
Click a firm’s profile. Don’t click anything else. Just watch your browser. Did a new tab open by itself? Did the page flash for a second before it loaded? If yes, someone just got paid for a decision you haven’t made yet. Your tab went through an affiliate link you never clicked, and a cookie landed on you that you never agreed to.
Most traders never notice. They spend hours comparing drawdown rules and payout splits, and zero seconds checking what the site in front of them is doing.
Respect to @traderkane for putting this on the timeline. Keep calling it out, someone has to.
Here’s what bothers me most. Traders get banned every week for deceitful marketing. One wrong move and the payout is gone, no appeal.
So a genuine question to every prop firm CEO reading this: if a trader can’t bend the rules, why can the sites sending you buyers? Isn’t that a double standard?
Traders, check the site before you check the firm. Your click is worth more than you think.

Prop firms: “We ban affiliates who force cookies.”
Also prop firms: listed on sites that force cookies.😂
Isn’t that a double standard?
We recorded our live site so you don’t have to trust us.
Click Copy. Watch nothing happen. That’s how it should work.
Are we still on the "deceitful marketing algo"? Hey @PropFirmMatch, did you knowingly push an update that stuffs cookies when people aren’t clicking links advertised in the code as external websites?
Here’s what happens: someone clicks the profile page or copy code link that links to the internal page and your javascript handler redirects the original tab through an affiliate link to the firm’s website and opens the intended link a new tab... sounds pretty knowing to me.
You even ban your affiliates from forcing cookies.. but you can, huh?
Some pretty big affiliates have gone to prison for cookie stuffing.
I used @MattLeech's MFFU as an example in this video but this happens on most firms listed on their website (I didn't check them all).
Firms are banning traders for deceitful marketing, if this isn't deceitful what is?

CFD is dead?? lol noooo 💀
Futures and perps are just the new hype, CFD's still eating with all the new traders. The only thing cooked is firms changing rules every week.
