I never wanted to be a solo artist.
I wanted to be part of a band.
These days, it feels like we’re all pretty much solo due to the fragmented nature of the scene. Most of us are hunkered down in a room by ourselves tapping on a computer.
The thing is that I’m a great band member/sideman. I love that role and feel comfortable in it. I learn the songs, write charts, show up when I should, my gear works plus I always have backups, and I don’t drink. My place is standing to the side of the lead singer. I do everything in my power to make that singer look good, which is really every side player’s job.
Now, due to modern times and my own circumstances, I make music completely on my own. As most of you know, that approach has its pros and cons. I miss the human interaction and musical intercourse of musicians reacting to each other. That just doesn’t happen when working alone with a computer.
It would make me happy to find a couple people who wanted to record here with me in person, especially singers. Instrumentalists, too, would be welcome. I like hearing other personalities besides my own.
What’s your take on this? Do you like rolling solo or in a band? Which have you done the most?

Why would you do this? What is the point of this “me first” bullshit man? Even alluding to this seems incredibly disrespectful to his family and legacy. They clearly did not want you to say anything on it until the official post. Don’t be so fucking selfish.
