The Baltimore Sun has taken a turn at Ai editorial cartooning and in the process destroyed the saying, “a picture’s worth a thousand words.” Their picture’s worth five words, “The Sun can’t do creativity.” Pitiful. Before Dobbs was heard, 2020 saw 930,000 abortions in the US. An incredibly huge number of lives lost. Abortion clinics said, “hold my beer.” In 2025, we saw 1.13 million abortions, a 21% increase from 2020. The states were given the power to protect the unborn, and yet the national tally climbed providing a bitter reminder that legality and morality do not always move in the same direction.

Trump insists that intelligence agencies and other officials spent years minimizing or dismissing concerns that China has voter data on about every American. The intel community doesn’t think much of us rubes given their incredible logic gymnastics. "Nothing to see here.  China had a campaign to influence voters’ decisions, but rest assured, we're confident it won't affect...the decisions." It's the political equivalent of announcing, "The termites aren't eating the house. They’re just chewing on the wood.”

I was shocked Sunday morning when I learned that U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham had died. I’d followed his career since he was a U.S. Representative from South Carolina in the late 1990s. I rarely draw obituary cartoons. When I do, it’s usually because the person played a significant role in my local community. The last time I remember drawing one was in 2018, and I actually drew two that year. One was for Scott Hunter, publisher of the Aiken Standard, the South Carolina newspaper where my editorial cartoons appeared. Continued at…. open.substack.com/pub/algood…

Between Ai and the tinfoil hat crowd, we’re learning to be skeptical if we already weren't there.

We’re muddling through a long list of 80-20 issues… One topic stands out as even more lopsided and riskier than the others: gender-affirming medical interventions for minors. I feel for parents who have a child with mental or physical needs, and gender dysphoria is no exception. The choices faced are often complex with a priority to balance risk vs. benefit.

Larry Sanger, one of the originators of Wikipedia decades ago and the person credited for coming up with the name, has been banned. The overlords at the core of Wikipedia’s mob rule mentality had an issue with Sanger pointing that the online encyclopedia ignores certain viewpoints including those from American conservatives. Nothing screams power hunger more than banning someone who points out your power appetite.
