Also, proud to be a fan and the fanbase is so much better than it has gotten credit for over the past few days. There are a lot of people who don’t understand St. Pete/Tampa, the transplant fans in the area from the north/midwest and the fans who will make a vacation at some of the country’s nicest beaches to see their team. If you actually spend any time down there, you’d realize how passionate the fans are for all of their sports teams and how cool of sports area it actually is.
Tough series for the Rays, but a ton of talent that can hopefully piece it together soon. You can never take a World Series appearance for granted, especially with the Rays payroll in the AL East. Plenty to be proud of this season despite this past week.

Make that five in a row for the Dirty Dozen as they blow past Briarwood. The Lions never rolled over at any point, but it was hard to keep up with a national powerhouse.

Briarwood gets one step further than last year and is heading to the state championship! A phenomenal season from the Lions will end with them playing for the biggest prize tomorrow at noon.

Thompson faced Bob Jones in the north regional final last week and won in four. (25-19, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23). Warriors also beat the Patriots in five on Sept. 2.
Briarwood faced McGill in the Juanita Boddie finals and lost in a three-set thriller, winning the first set 25-17 before dropping a 28-26 second set and 15-13 third set.

Briarwood battled past a fierce UMS-Wright effort to dominate the third set with Noelle Suellentrop serving, putting the Lions in the semifinals for the second-straight year to face St. Paul’s Episcopal on Tuesday at 4 p.m.

The semifinal window has officially opened with Thompson facing Hewitt-Trussville and Briarwood taking on St. Paul’s. I will bounce around courts to provide updates.
A pretty cool experience getting to see your favorite team in the World Series. I wish the highlight of the night was a win and not bumping into Nate Oats as I walked in but here we are. Brewers are just unreal and their fan base is impressive.
Definitely a check swing at the end, but can’t blame that. A 4-0 lead with your ace on the mound and that bullpen should be more than enough. Rays clearly felt the pressure of the World Series in the field and it carried over to the plate.
