[Tesla Semi catches fire on I-880 in Hayward, CA]
- On Oct 27, around 5:35–5:45 p.m. local time, a Tesla Semi's lithium-ion battery caught fire in the southbound lanes of I-880 near Route 92 in Hayward.
- The California Highway Patrol (CHP) closed both directions due to the risk of hazardous chemical smoke. Northbound reopened at about 8:40 p.m.
- CHP said the battery fire could burn for 15–18 hours, and southbound would stay closed until it was out and the truck was safe to remove.
- No injuries were reported and no other vehicles were involved. The driver said the truck simply caught fire. The cause is under investigation.

Wild to think he just turned 22 two months ago. I'm hoping he has a couple decades left in him. Being nominated for this u-23 October award is encouraging.

UPDATE: $100,000 has been raised for Walt, the Red Barron employee harassed to the breaking point by a nuisance streamer. The owner of this GoFund Me has made contact with him and we have reached out as well. Walt is “overwhelmed” by the generosity. America is still great.

🚨ATTENTION: Please Help Me Find This Father.
This hardworking dad of four just trying to make a living was harassed at his job by a nuisance TikTok influencer.
He was then posted online to be mocked by the public.
America is facing a crisis and people are going to start snapping. People work too hard in this country and deserve better than this. This man's main priority is providing for his family and we want to help him do that.
Too many use the internet for bad, let's use it for good so we can help make his life better.
I want to set up a GiveSendGo for him.
If you can help me get in contact, shoot me a DM.
