Today we're incredibly excited to announce @DreamscaleLabs (YC F26)! We're an applied research company putting robot brains in the cloud. Robot AI models are growing larger and on-board compute is getting increasingly inaccessible due to cost. We're taking a contrarian bet that the future is moving inference off the robot and into the cloud, while still meeting real-time deadlines required by robot motion. We're building the real-time inference infrastructure that enables frontier physical AI models to run smoothly on your robot. We optimize for low latency across the full stack: from the model, down to the GPU kernels, and over the network. Our mission is to unlock a future of safe and intelligent robots doing meaningful work, and we think this is only possible by letting you deploy and run robot models in the cloud. Reach out to us at [email protected] or visit our website at dreamscalelabs.com to learn more. @KDog112358 @AntoineNeedGPUs @eternaI_entropy

Join us as Abhishek Gupta from Cirles.life discusses how pinpointing a specific, digital-native customer segment revolutionized their approach. By focusing on a niche market—those who value convenience and are willing to pay a premium—they achieved extraordinary results. Abhishek reveals how excelling in this niche led to significant product validation and growth. Find out why narrowing your focus can often yield better outcomes than trying to appeal to everyone.

Great to see @marqo_ai (and open source) featured prominently in the latest @TechCrunch article on the role and rise of vector databases in AI. Although the hype, getting vector search into production is still very challenging. Vector search requires much more than vector similarity alone (i.e. a vector database) and needs to have the embedding -management, -orchestration, -inference and model (re)training. Vector databases get you vector similarity, Marqo gets you into production. techcrunch.com/2024/04/20/wh…

It was fantastic to listen to Lance Song from Redbubble talk about vector search in production but it was also another proud moment for @marqo_ai . It doesn’t get better than hearing customer success stories in the wild. Key learnings: - Building production vector search systems is complex, time-consuming and spans many domains of engineering and machine learning. You need more than a vector database. - Fine-tuning is a must. Open source models were poorly suited as is and fine-tuning not only eclipsed them but it also resulted in significant improvements (+XX%) on key business metrics. - Speed matters. Running Marqo with multimodal transformers with large indexes (10’s of M) results in latency that is no different to existing keyword search engines. Feel free to get in touch or see below to learn more: - Marqo -> marqo.ai/ - Github -> github.com/marqo-ai/marqo

Many angel investors will only invest in Pre-seed deals if Tier I Venture Firms are in the round. Less than 5% of Unicorns were funded by Tier 1 at Pre-Seed. Founders: You don't need a Tier 1 in pre-seed or investors who expect it.

This was a tough secret to keep! We decided it in the #Succession writers' room in Jan 22. So nobody found out we used code on the whiteboards. Larry David meant Logan Dies. So episode 403 said Connor's Wedding, Larry David. Mind you, that would also have been a great episode.

It's crazy that ppl would count GOOG out of the AI race prematurely. When I think about how they won mobile data/ads, it's nuts. Even just before the iPhone launched, GOOG -Had no handset -Was not a mobile carrier -Had no mobile expertise & still won. Android has 72% mkt share
