Other co-agents are alleged to have been complicit in these operations. In the age of the internet, it's always wise to arm yourself with information when deciding who you want to represent you. Do they represent your brand? Will they have your best interest at heart? Are they working for the models? Or moreso for the productions? WILL THEY PROTECT YOU if someone abuses you or a production company tries to coerce you into doing something you aren't comfortable doing? Know your worth! I've seen studios pay independent models nearly double their counterparts because they were merely influencers with large followings. If it comes down to having an agent that doesn't care about you vs being an independent model, choose the latter. You can represent yourself and make just as much. Gatekeeping exists for the agents to profit off the contacts, while the information is PUBLICLY available. Again, arm yourself with information. Let that be your primary weapon.
