It’s time the helmet went home.
Found near Caen, France, close to where Canadian forces fought during Operation Totalise in August 1944, it is a powerful reminder of the Canadians who gave their lives for Europe.
Today, this helmet begins its journey back home with @CanadianPM @MarkJCarney, carrying our gratitude and the enduring friendship between Europe and Canada 🇪🇺🇨🇦
It was a great pleasure to join Nick and his team at the official opening of No Frills at 4771 Yonge Street. Wishing the entire team continued success in serving our Willowdale community!

A new chapter for the EU-Canada partnership 🇪🇺🇨🇦
Ahead of @CanadianPM @MarkJCarney's address to @Europarl_EN this Thursday, I am delighted that tonight, the European Parliament's Bureau has endorsed the establishment of an EP antenna office in Ottawa.
A stronger presence that facilitates parliamentary exchanges across the Atlantic, with a regional remit reaching as far as the Arctic.
Europe and Canada: old friends, still writing the next page together.
To mark the anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks, I joined parliamentary colleagues in Detroit to honour the victims and remember the survivors and first responders.
Following that dark day, Canadians were united in their resolve to do all we could to assist our American friends and neighbours.
As Rosh Hashanah begins at sundown, I extend my warmest wishes to Jewish communities in Willowdale and across Canada. May the year ahead bring peace, good health, happiness, and prosperity to you and your loved ones.
Shana Tova U’Metukah!
Attended the Midwestern Legislative Conference in St. Paul, Minnesota, to engage legislators from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota, and Wisconsin. I underscored our commitment to constructive dialogue and echoed our lead negotiator’s recent pronouncement that our “pens are down, but the door is open.”
A big and warm welcome to Toronto’s newest Member of Parliament, Tanveer Shahnawaz of Beaches - East York.
Great fun getting out the vote for the by election in Toronto. If you live in Beaches-East York, make sure to vote for Tanveer Shahnawaz!

Pleasure to attend the celebration of Uzbekistan's Independence Day at the Legislative Assembly of Ontario.
Warmest congratulations to all those celebrating the 35th anniversary of Uzbekistan's independence.

The name Lake Ontario comes from the Wendat word Ontari’io, which, appropriately, means “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big”.
The name is more than 400 years old, predating both the Confederation of Canada and the Declaration of Independence of the United States of America.
We know that America is changing. Their trading relationships, their foreign policies, their national monuments, their hydronyms.
Canadians also know that naming reality means calling it Lake Ontario – then, now and always.
Great to join other members of caucus on visit with the leadership of the Toronto Region Board of Trade to discuss the best means to strengthen Canada’s economy, support Canadian businesses, and create new opportunities for growth and investment.

Canada will match the new U.S. tariffs dollar for dollar.
In addition, we are introducing $7.5 billion in new and enhanced measures to support Canadian workers and businesses. That builds on the nearly $25 billion in supports introduced since the implementation of the U.S. unjustified tariffs.
Defending Canadian jobs, industries, and families.

The Tragically Hip wove the fabric of our country into their music.
Ten years on from their final concert, I was given the chance to reflect on what the Hip meant to Canada — and to Canadians.

A great pleasure to attend the annual Toronto Korean Festival at Mel Lastman Square, the largest Korean festival in Canada, and to experience the richness of Korean culture, cuisine, and performances.
I was also delighted to welcome the new Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Canada, H.E. Lim Ki-mo. It was an excellent opportunity to celebrate and highlight the dynamic and growing relationship between Canada and the Republic of Korea.
환영합니다.

Team Canada needs to stand together more united than ever before.
The prime minister has my full support for a strong response—tariff for tariff, dollar for dollar. As we fight to protect Canadian sovereignty and economic security, everything needs to be on the table. Ontario is ready to do its part.
