un concerto memorabile al Rose Bowl
di Pasadena, in California,
davanti a circa 100.000 spettatori,
una delle più grandi folle mai radunate
per un singolo concerto negli Stati Uniti.
L’evento faceva parte del “U2 360° Tour”,
caratterizzato da un palco circolare e
una struttura futuristica chiamata
“The Claw”, che permetteva al pubblico
una visuale a 360 gradi.
L’altra particolarità di quella serata fu
che la band trasmise l’intero concerto
in diretta streaming gratuita su YouTube, una novità assoluta per l’epoca.
Fu uno dei primi grandi eventi musicali
a essere condiviso globalmente sul web, anticipando l’era dei live streaming
su larga scala.

A parte il fatto che a 82 anni forse sarebbe ora di andare in pensione;
A parte il fatto che un conduttore non possa rivolgersi in questa maniera ad un qualsiasi ospite;
A parte la disparità di trattamento con altri ospiti;
Il problema vero è che la voce dei giovani viene trattata in questa maniera: con sufficienza, livore, senza la pazienza di ascoltare e con la superiorità di chi quella voce non ha proprio interesse a prenderla in considerazione.

“I’ve Been Thinking About You” was written by Londonbeat members Jimmy Chambers, George Chandler, Jimmy Helms and William Henshall for the band’s 1990 album In the Blood. Chambers later recalled that the idea came to him while he was in bed with a cold. Produced by Martyn Phillips, the track pairs a mid-tempo dance beat with the group’s tight a cappella-style harmonies.
Released in August 1990 as the lead single, it reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and then topped the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1991. It also reached No. 1 in Australia, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and several other countries, becoming the band’s signature hit. The song was the number-one airplay track in the United States for 1991 and later won the BMI Award for Song of the Year.
