⚖️ When should you operate — and when should you wait?
In intestinal failure care, timing is everything.
Operating too early can increase risk.
Waiting too long can create new challenges.
One of the key themes at Horizons 2026 is complex surgical decision-making, exploring how experienced teams approach difficult cases and balance risk against necessity.
Sometimes the most important surgical decision is deciding not to operate yet.

🤝 How do you build a truly effective intestinal failure MDT?
The most successful intestinal failure services aren’t built around one specialty.
They’re built around collaboration.
Surgeons, gastroenterologists, dietitians, specialist nurses and pharmacists each bring a different perspective to complex patient care.
At Horizons 2026, we’ll explore how multidisciplinary teams can work together more effectively to improve outcomes for patients with intestinal failure.
Because the best patient care rarely comes from one profession alone.

🚨 Are your intestinal failure patients failing to improve as expected?
Managing intestinal failure often involves far more than following a pathway.
🔹 Recurrent infections
🔹 Nutritional challenges
🔹 Complex surgical decisions
🔹 Functional disorders
At Horizons 2026, experts will share practical strategies to help clinicians navigate these challenges and improve patient outcomes.

Our philosophy is simple: great patient outcomes depend on great multidisciplinary teamwork.
Do you agree? 🧐
Intestinal failure is complex. No single clinician or specialty can manage these patients alone.
The best outcomes come when surgeons, gastroenterologists, nutrition specialists, pharmacists, nurses, dietitians and the wider MDT work together to deliver truly integrated care.
That’s exactly what Horizons in Intestinal Failure is all about. ✅
Over three days, you’ll learn from experts across the entire multidisciplinary team, gaining practical insights that reflect the realities of modern intestinal failure care.
📅 Registration is now open.
